I can accept this if we beat Geelong in the GF and Essendon go out in straight sets (6-0, 6-0 preferably).

Can't see Geelong, Brisbane or West Coast missing a top 4 spot. That leaves Collingwood the most vulnerable side. All things being equal, I can see us replacing them anywhere between 2nd and 4th spot. Fourth would suit me fine with a return to the G against Geelong so good on every level I can think of. Would be happy to see Brisbane having to travel to Perth rather than us. Both sides can bang up their legs on WCE's concrete surface.

Squiggle has us pretty similar chances to finish anywhere between second to 9th with slightly less chance for ninth and second.

Its very even for the other teams in the 8 also apart from Cats.

Tigers also look to have a very even mix of offensive and defensive attributes and ranked well overall at the moment. Cats defensively better but offensively weaker. Lions better offensively but weaker on defence. Tigers in the middle - a great launchpad into the rest of the season.

Lions won't make top 4. They'll lose to cats & us and finish 5
We finish 4th. (only loss to pies on the run home)
If we do finish 4th we play eagles at optus, lions at G, cats @ G and finally eagles @ G...!

I despise the ladder predictor.
In a season full of upsets it's about as useful as Mason Cox playing in wet weather.
But what the hell.
This week I have us finishing 7th playing GWS in Sydney if we lose to the Lions.
If we beat the Lions I have us finishing 6th playing GWS at the G.
Go for it.

How do you get that? I feel like it's more... my back-of-the-envelope estimate is in the trillions.

There are 6.4 quadrillion possible ladder combinations in total, and there aren't THAT many that are logically impossible yet. Geelong can even still miss finals.

Delicious, losing to Collingwood in week 1 but them beating them in the GF. Even more delicious if we lose to them this week and in week 1 to make three losses to them this year... only to beat them in the GF.

I think we'll finish 4th or 5th. I have a bad feeling we'll finsh 5th and dogs will sneak into 8th and do what they always seem to do against us recently

Nightmare.
I was cheering hard for St Kilda because of this. 2013 and 2015 saw our worst side of the recent make 8th (Carlton and North Melbourne respectively). If we finish 5th and Bulldogs sneak into 8th, then this is basically what’s happening again. I’d rather us play West Coast in Perth

We have the opportunity this week to replace Collingwood in the top 4 and be 1 game into the top 4. From there, all we need to do is maintain our position (eg. if we are two games into the top 4, we have room to lose one game).

I think we have a huge chance of finishing top 4 if we beat Collingwood
