What a lot of bullshit. Freo loses to Hawks by 31 points, Richmond by 25 points, Fyfe gets 6 votes. GWS beat Pies by 47 points, Grundy gets 3 votes. Carlton wins one game out of first 9 or 10, Cripps gets 18 votes. Absolute joke

The amount of votes Fyfe and Cripps got in losing games was insane. Bizarre.
And that's a good thing.

Being the fairest and best player on the ground has almost nothing to do with which side actually won (except that sometimes - very rarely - a brilliant player can drag his side over the line almost single-handedly).

Media are morons. The umpires just gave them the big finger. Not before time.

More chance for a player to stand out in a losing team than 5 players on similar output in a winning. These players try to lift the team when they're not going well. Glad it's not a fan voted or media voted affair.

Switched it over to see who won and just caught the tail end of The Enlightened Ones acceptance speech. Now its onto roving Brian harassing drunks.

...and, I'm out.

None of those were as bad as Dawson Simpson jagging a vote for his 8 disposal masterclass in round one, a game in which they lost the clearances. :drunk:

How did the dogs compare to other teams in total votes this season? 2 players with 20+ and Dunks on 15 votes is nothing to snort at!

Does it irk anyone else that Bontempelli's name is in bold on the WB Facebook post and Macrae's isn't? Don't get me wrong I love them both but if I was Macrae I'd be a little annoyed by that. Sure, Bont can come first if they're doing it alphabetically but they should both be in bold

Edit: Hangon, the they deleted my comment on the facebook post

Edit edit: Seems they've deleted the post. Hope to see both players equally bolded for their equal contribution if they re-post

Final edit: Has been reposted with 0 bolding. I reckon they should have both got the bold treatment but definitely an improvement :rainbow:

The Brownlow has always been a bit like that. Anyone remember Shane Wowoedin? A great accolade, but there's always been an element of luck/randomness to it. If the Bont keeps it up he'll get his sooner or later

is this top 3 in the coaches votes?

No. Coaches votes was the two doing 5-4-3-2-1 instead of one set of 3-2-1 which explains why everyone has more games polled in coaches votes.

Just thought it was an interesting-ish comparison. If anything I feel Bevo might’ve been too kind in the coaches votes haha

Edit: Using the 3-2-1 with coaching votes

Using this system the Western Bulldogs Marcus Bontempelli (27) will win from Geelong’s Patrick Dangerfield (24.5), Tim Kelly (23), Fyfe (21.5), West Coast’s Luke Shuey (21.25), Cripps (20.5), Brisbane’s Lachie Neale (20.33), Grundy (20), Richmond’s Dustin Martin (18.16) and Melbourne’s Max Gawn (18).
