I would be staggered if we'd made any play for Bomber considering the publicized shortlist of coaches we put out just last week to be interviewed.

But if i'm going to be staggered.....this is the year to do it.
This was just media speculation though wasn't it?

The club has neither confirmed nor denied the existence of a short list or who is in fact a candidate at this stage?

I saw that rumour that we offered Bomber a big contract on facebook. No source or anything. Reckon people are just making stuff up now. After the huge amount of news about players during trade week, the sudden slump in action as we search for a coach is driving everyone mad.
Who in their right mind would want to do that?

I saw this on the scandals & rumours board. Safe to say we won't have a coach until next week at the earliest:

Big Rumour today that the committee chosen to elect the next coach of the Western Bulldogs is at loggerheads as two members of the committee want to interview Bomber Thompson and the others don't.

Lol, we don't even know who's being interviewed so how the hell would anyone know that the committee is "at loggerheads" or simply voicing a variety of opinions.

Unless Bomber pays his fine asap he won't be working in any AFL job, let alone ours. Do we really want someone as conflicted and devious as our coach? For those calling Monty Iago, have a look at B. Thompson whose self-serving actions are plain for all to see.

He was tracking square with Francesca Cumani for a while so unless he's a switch hitter (possible) I think he bats for the main team....
Which is enough reason to immediately appoint him captain, coach and president immediately for mine.

Rather than worry about our new coach, if there's one thing I want Gerard Healy to focus on over summer, it's getting the names of our Boyds right.

We have two now and Brad Boyd is old enough to be Tom's father and Matthew has been playing AFL for more than a decade, so FFS get it right.

Say it with me - T-O-M is the big bloke kicking bags from the square.

M-A-T-T-H-E-W is the dude in the centre square.

B-R-A-D played for a club which no longer exists in its current form and retired 15 years ago.

It ain't rocket science.

FWIW, Francesca is the highlight of Cup week for me. I'm getting shivers down the spine already.

Sorry guys, hope you find a great Coach but i absolutely wouldn't want someone ie: Montgomery who would abuse/insult someone who was getting over a serious cancer operation...Remember BM and Rama?
Was what Monty said really that bad in the heat of the battle? It wasn't like he said he wished he had died or anything. Sure it was in poor taste but does it really exclude him from a head coaching job?
Leigh Matthews almost killed a guy for ****s sake.

timtamWB was close I'm actually Wil Minson. Eloquent and funny but prone to saying stupid things and having fights with our own. I make up for it by flying the flag.

Not saying anything here, just something to note:

Brett Montgomery - assistant coach of the year 2014.

The last assistant coach of the year we hired was....

Brendan Macartney (2010).
Yeah... How did that one go again? And they say lightning never strikes twice :p
