What if Kouta didn't do his knee? Would have won the Brownlow by a street. Woewoedin. Seriously?

What if Sos didn't rip his hamstring off the bone. Not saying Blues could have stopped Essendon winning a flag but I reckon they could have had a decent crack.

What if George Harris didn't fall out with the club after the '79 flag? Blues might have done 4 in a row.

What if Neil Balme wasn't such a dirty thug? His kinghit on Geoff Southby was one of the worst things I've ever seen on a football field. The only way Richmond could win that flag was to go the knuckle.
John Nicholls himself has said that this did not cost Carlton the flag they were completely outplayed in the middle and were never gonna win after losing both Trevor Keogh and Barry Armstrong before the game

What if Matthew Richardson doesn't hit the fence and injure his knee in 1995? Does he make a difference in the Tigers finals campaign?

Doubtful, Blues were elite that year and we could never beat the Cats pre-2017. Most of us would be more what-iffy about the 1995 post-season...give Northey the measly extra year he wants, he stays, Maxfield stays...what if...

What if Hawkins kick that smashed into the post was called a point rather than a goal in the 2009 GF?

What if Gardener hadn’t done his hamstring in the 2nd quarter of the 2010 GF?

2001 prelim against Essendon.

If Croads 60 meter bomb goes through instead of swinging late and hitting the post. Hawks take the lead, i believe the game and an unlikely grand final appearance
Was watching that game on tv at Subiaco oval during the WAFL grand final. Was willing Croad's kick home. I thought it was going to be a goal, would have been great to see a big boilover.

Imagine the dons losing 2 big prelims in 3 years.

A goal was scored to put them in front; of course 60K Hawks supporters have applauded that decision. So be it, but it's a good addition to this thread nevertheless.
2011 was redemption, no stress.
I reckon I would be pretty filthy if one of our players got pinged for that. The saints player lunges forward to give off the handball, he didn’t go to ground because of the force of the tackle.

It’s more that mooney’s Response to it was like that crows fan that was all “right in front of me!”. Was a bit humourous

We would have got spanked in the grand final, but who knows? Maybe Brisbane would have taken us too lightly and we could have bopped up for a cheeky win.

If the bombers win in 99 vs the blues, they beat the Kangas who they dominated twice that year { at least dominated the first game. Still a good win the 2nd ) They then don't have the same hunger or raging anger for 2000, and don't go on that crazy winning streak. Maybe the blues Get up in 2000. Who knows.

Great the way things work out/not work out.

What if they had a goal review system in 2011 semi final. Warnock touched two goals in the second quarter. The biggest what it is what if bloody mark Austin hadn’t of pulled darling to the ground. I always thought after a goal the freekick goes to the centre as all clear had already happened.

Goal review system would of won carlton the game. The big kick from Kennedy that made a shit bend toward goal was not fully over the line when touched.

What if Walker had got the free kick in the last.

North were going to launch a bloodbath on essendon.

Same thing if we got past the the prelim in 2000.

This would have been fun - major impact for Sydney, Richmond and probably Saints as well.........................

"Nothing is signed and we haven't spoken to the club"
"There it is folks, it's official!"

Obviously it all fell through, but what happened in between? Locket change his mind or St Kilda couldn't deal with Richmond?

Certainly would have - 2 in 3 years, the kind of stuff dreams are made of.
Worse thing was, it looked home as well

Yeah more than likely - i recall us getting worked by them earlier that year. But yeah who knows.

Denying that particular Essendon side a chance at glory would have been almost as satisfying as winning the GF anyway.
