Slightly off field, but what if the EFC kept records of stuff ????

Then they'd have been deregistered as a club and Hird would be facing criminal charges.

I think a better one would be what if Essendon didn't get Hird in, but went for Luke Bereridge say.

Could very well have premiership right now.

What if we weren't so shit in 2017?

We wouldn't have future all star LDU.

More pertinently, what if Richmond had been shit for one more year? Dusty would be in North colours I reckon.

Ah well.

What if Ess did not get Thompson in to mentor Hird?

Its stupid because what is the outcome now for the Long hit vs. back then? He got weeks. That's still the punishment now, wouldn't have changed the outcome.

Also, nothing would have changed you guys flogging Melbourne or anyone else for that matter in the 2000 GF. Having failed to live up to the promise of the 93 Baby Bombers and having been pushed around by poor old North throughout the 90s (as Sheedy famously blasted the players about) when we started to slow down due to age you were ready to pounce.

Yep, you guys could have won more than just the one you gut undr Scott I reckon.

What if Essendon had just Bomber in full stop? No Hird, no doping program. Would be interesting.

What if Wayne Carey had decided to go back to South Australia in the very early 90s as he was considering?

Would North have survived as a club?

I doubt it.

NO WAY.
Bomber was mentally cooked at Geelong in 2010. Spent half his time unsettling Ablett, and the other half dealing his way back to Essendon.
Bomber has been NQR for a long time now.

Would have been interesting if North met WCE instead of Geelong in 1994. But the Eagles were just so supreme it wouldn't have mattered. But the scoreline, you would think, would have been closer. Many thought the actual GF would be though as well after WCE beat us by a few goals in the wet at KP earlier in the year.

WCE beat North by 37 points, then by 9 at the WACA after the Roos came close trailing by 40 at 3qtr time.

Dons-Roos in 96, another interesting encounter.

Carey was injured but in supreme form. The 94 gf clash between him and Jako would have been enormous.

What if North Melbourne took the AFL’s offer to relocate to the Gold Coast?

Would Tasmania have a team or would we have a 17 team competition?

I doubt GWS would have been rushed in.

What if the Victorian clubs had supported the North/Fitzroy merger?

What if the Melbourne Hawks had become a thing?

1990's North Melbourne. Under lights, Carey, Longmire, McCadam { briefly } Mckernan, Schwass, Bell, Grant, Abraham, Allison, Stevens, Archer, the names go on and on.

North Melbourne and 1990's goes hand in hand.

What a ****en time.

What if.... with less than a minute to go Carlton's David McKay kicked a point instead of his shot being marked by Blight next to the point post in the 1976 preliminary final.

The game would have ended up in a draw instead of North winning by a point.

Hawthorn, already in the grand final while waiting for the outcome of the prelim would have ended up having 2 weekends off in a row.

Would Hawthorn have still won the premiership with that disruption?

If Isaac Smith kicked that goal in the 2016 QF, I believe Sydney would have beaten Hawthorn 2 weeks later, but the interesting one is the Geelong vs Bulldogs SF.

We all know how red-hot the Dogs were that September, but could they have beaten the team that troubles them the most?
In Sep 16, Yes.

What if Jordy McMahon missed that goal that "won" us the pick 3 that we took Dusty Martin with?
Well we probably aren't the reigning premiers that's for sure.

What if Essendon didn't get booted from the finals? We'd not have played a bogey side in Carlton and would have had a home final at the 'G against Port I believe, who we had beaten earlier in the year, and we were a safe bet at the 'G against a travelling side that year.

Reckon we would have beaten Port at the G easily in that final (we beat them by 6-7 goals in Adelaide earlier in the year) but the added what if is, would Richmond 2017 been the same team without the heartbreak of the 3 EF losses. I suspect not.

What if David Mundy had missed his shot after the siren to beat the tigers last year? Richmond still would have won the flag but done it from top position and we wouldn’t have had to endure the countless threads about the grand final being played at the g.

If McMahon missed the shot we would have still taken dusty with pick 1 or 2 but we probably would have scully on the list as well.
