what if japan succesfully invaded australia?
We would have a great train system
If we survived building it they might let us ride it eventually

Hard to tell isnt it there was WW11 Japan and Today Japan
and we dont know if they needed the to lose the first to become the second

Oh man, you're such a tease.

What if Bernie Sanders is allowed to win the Democratic nomination fair & square?

no impact

The US is beyond repair with its gun laws, so no benefits would flow from that.

The US political machine is bigger than one man. with a huge war machine, cops that kill citizens, an out of control CIA, lobby groups and powerful corporate interests; the death of one man would be meaningless.

What the US should be saying is "how the fk did we end up with trump and clinton as our best two options?". Then making changes so it doesn't repeat. Sadly though, trump will get another term, with the nation learning nothing from the last 4 years.

In fact name the last president that can stand tall from both an integrity point of view and achievement? You'd have to look as far back as pre cold war.

I believe the Nation - as in it's people - have learnt a great deal.....Which is why Bernie's populism is through the roof.

Unfortunately, it's the nations MSM & it's Oligarchs strangle-hold upon both the political process & the media narratives, which perpetuates the status quo.

The machine does what it does and was always going to do regardless of "token leader".
Having an obvious loon as a scape goat allows people to allocate blame and makes people think its still a democracy and things can change at the next election,

I love how dyed-in-the-wool conservatives still believe that Trump is somehow separate from & in opposition to the Deep-State....Oh Dear.

Yep not much changes no matter who's in charge , left right, red blue, liberal labor, we end up where the real power brokers want us to be just at slightly different speeds.

Obama was so different with his hope and change:rolleyes:.

What if the Dutch or French colonised some or all of Australia. The Dutch were sniffing around in the 1600s, the French in the 1700s. The Swan River Colony (Perth) wasn't established by the English until 1829. Albany was settled in 1826.

Australia is a big place and 3,000km is lonnnng distance in 1800s terms. Had the Dutch set up New New Amsterdam in WA and the Brits carried on in the East would we eventually have ended up like South Africa (minus the black majority) as single country with two major colonial powers wielding an influence? Thousands died as a result of the Boer Wars. Would we have ended up with New South Wales and New Holland drawing a line in the sand (i.e. the WA/SA-NT border) and developing into two separate nations? If it was the French would whoever else was here have just steamrolled them? The Germans occupied The Netherlands for the majority of WWII. Part of Australia being under Axis control would have changed the dymanic in the Pacific.

Different geopolitical landscape in the Middle East, but the US would have still picked a fight with someone over the 2000s and 2010s.

Air travel would be easier, though. I remember boarding a Qantas flight with half a (glass) bottle of rum in hand and no one cared.
Wouldn't need to jump through the ridiculous security hoops at airports that's for sure. Taking your shoes off in the states - LOL. So dumb

You can cause as much mess at sports games, or on busses. Neither requires anything close to the security we see at airports...

We'd probably all drive Toyotas, use heaps of Sony gear and an entire generation of kids would've grown up playing Pokemon.

Wait...

Are you suggesting that if Japan won, they'd still adopt the U.S capitalist system?

Perhaps the Oz bush would be crawling with Ninjas in A semi-Feudalist Samurai State.
