It certainly sped up big brother

If they were looking for An excuse to implement the Orwellian State, then they certainly found it in 9/11 & the Accompanying 'Terrorist' narrative.

What if Smithy had kicked that goal After the siren in 2016?....Would we be looking At A 4-Peat ?

Probably have kept its laid back feel. And possibly been even more British if that's possible. Don't forget Murdoch is a US citizen so that is what is driving our media and culture ATM. And all he's employees (including liberal politicians) fall in line

What if Steven Milne got a kind bounce

What if Maynard was correctly paid his free kick when he was blocked out leading to Dom Sheeds goal
what if we had video footage of Anthony Roccas point in the 2002 grand final and it was overturned to a goal
what if Harmes was out of bounds
what if Peter Mckenna was not concussed in the first half of the 1970 grand final
what if Neil Compton didnt sneak down and kick the winning goal in 64

And on the other foot what if Sumich kicked a goal from 15 meters out in the 90 semi and WC won instead of drawing.

What if 9/11 never happened?

That's a big one this century, along with What If? the US presidency wasn't stolen from Al Gore 10 months earlier. Very different reality if Muslims didn't become ooga booga to non-Muslims, and Iraq didn't get a hostile invasion and new government (Gore wouldn't have done it).

More like New Zealand, Ireland and Canada. Race-baiting tougher.

Australian nationalism would be more positive, inclusive and future-oriented. Less defined by people obsessed with whiteness and a dead empire.

If Keating-Labor had stayed in until 9/11 we'd be in a better place on that front. 1996 on was wasted, deliberately.

So salty, yet so delicious

If Al Gore won that election would the Climate Change problem have been solved by now?

What if Collingwood never had the Collywobbles.

You still have Murdoch the Koch Bros and the Mineral Council and all their global variants

I believe the elder Koch bro died only just recently.

is MKR made because people are interested in cooking or does MKR change people to be interested in cooking?

sadly the products we have (including media) reflect the wants of the people

does propaganda makes us think what they want us to think

I guess your right. I've often asked a simple question regarding clean energy solutions that have actually resulted in 14-70g CO2 per kwh.......but people still want failed technologies.

Propaganda may be more powerful than I give it credit

Would that be propaganda from the nuclear industry ?

or hydro or geothermal

do you hold the belief that we don't need effective solutions in reducing CO2? or do you feel we should waste decades, waste money and implement ineffective technologies in reducing co2?

We'd probably still have international ODIs and T20s on FTA if it wasn't for Murdoch and the Libs being in bed with him and allowing Foxtel to bypass the anti siphoning laws where all home tests and limited overs matches are supposed to be on FTA.

It was also one of the reasons the NBN was nobbled under the Libs as high speed internet would have negatively impacted Foxtel's market share, Kevin Rudd basically said as much in an interview a few years ago. Under Labor the plan for the NBN was fibre to the premises but then under the Liberals that got scaled back to fibre to the node under the guise of cutting costs but fibre to the node is not much better than the broadband we had previously.

That's why we see so many ads for 5G internet now as that offers the high speed internet that the NBN should have provided, if the NBN was implemented properly we wouldn't need 5G.

I think the solution needs to be a permanent sustainable solution with lots of storage, be it pumped hydro and hydrogen or any other form of sustainable storage, not a permanent stockpile of nuclear waste left for our great grand children to deal with.
