Richmond
I have just recieved some interesting information off a very reliable source of mine, and that is that Richmond will be getting Kane Johnson from the Adelaide Crows as he and the two clubs have agreed to a fair trade but i am yet to have been told the details, so stay posted. Also Greg Tivendale is headed for Collingwood along with our 2nd round pick for Leon Davis.

The Johnson one sounds plausable. Your mail on Tiv going to the SKUNKS with a pick & not so Neon Leon is crap .
Leon Davis is not what the team needs anyway .
We would want a better player than Davis &their 2nd roundfor Tiv

Think about it RealDeal.......

Then again...perhaps Richmond's recruiting commitee watched a tape of the Grand Final, carefully took note of Leon Davis's performance and thought

- "He'll fit in perfectly with the rest of our forward line! Now, if only we can talk Huddo our of retirement and see if we can redraft Stevan Jackson and the structure will be unbeatable!"

Leon Davis will have a new nickname if he comes to tigerland. Olympic rings! 00000 stats in the GF. We do not need lightweights like him at the club. We have enough of them already.

Leon Davis

This Kid is a Star waiting to Sparkle.
My mate "a committed (insane) magpie" likens him to our Dave Rodan. A fire cracker , a spark to set the team alight.
One of the fastest in the league, could be used along side Rodan in the midfield. Magpies in his opinion might have played him out of position up forward.

If this happens my concern is we are giving too much for him.

Tivers and a second round pick?????...............
COME ON............... WAY Toooooooo MUCH!!!!!!!

I have recieved from a reliable source that reel deal is a tosser :D ;) .

I dont think we will be getting Neon Leon mate and i dont think i want the scum to get Tivendale. Interestingly i have had a source suggesting Tivendale may go to the Sunshine state for Damian Cupido! Know where would i hear something like that reel deal?:D  ;)

Interesting what pressure games like that show up. Both the Davis 'brothers' market value is now near enough to ZERO! Shane O'Bree's isn't much more.

On the other hand, unknowns and rejects like Ben Johnson, James Clement and Shane Wakelin really stood up.

If Tivendale was going to the Skunks, I would like to get their 1st Round draft pick (16th overall). This would probably be fair.

As for Cupi Doll - he has plenty of ability but his shoulder is very suspect. Caveat Emptor!

i dont know if its just wishful thinking on my behalf, but johnson has been on holiday for the past week or so (i dont even think he attended our b&f on friday). I know that richmond have talked to kane while he was on holidays, but the adelaide footy club have yet to talk to the rfc, so at the moment, the only deal to have been struck is between sugar and richmond!

Add to that the class of Stephen Jurica and Justin PPLAPPPP and your forward line is complete

Very optimistic.

Chance of getting a 1st rd pick for Tivendale - zero.
Chance of getting a second round pick for Tivendale - slight at best.

I posted on here about a week ago about Collingwood being interested in Tivendale but please not for Leon Davis!! Arrrrrghh!

Salary Cap Pressures !

Does RFC have enough salary cap space for Johnson ? He is likely to cost around 325 k pa. Any high priced retirements or veterans listing in the near future ? This could allow for a back loaded contract.

Campo and duncan are close. In fact Campo might be on the vets list next year.

spot on...Campbo will be replacing Knighta as our ONLY veteran for 2003...Dunc and Rogers get elevated in 2004.

We save whatever half of Knightas wage is + whatever half of campbells wage is + Hudsons wage + Szillers wage + Torneys wage. Assume Biddiscombe (rumour 260,000 per year...not sure - can't believe it's true ) is cut...maybe King.
I hope then we can afford Johnson, someone in the pre-season draft and 6 kids.

Gotta remember also that a few players back-loaded their contracts last year to fit Gaspar in, and if we still can't let Daffy retire, plsu the Bourke fiasco, then I'd say we're still in salary cap trouble.

But Nick you seem to belive that he is a superstar ....
Just to name a couple , is he better than Buckley ,Licuria , Burns
His effort has not been better than those 3 that i just mentioned this season....

Go Back & do your homework NICK .........

So are Richmond willing to give up the no.4 pick for Sugar?
