Bought this about a year ago, and finally got around to starting it about 4weeks ago. Finished last night. Was brilliant.
Once I was hooked, and it was when Kima was shot that it all clicked for me I would watch episode after episode like it aint no thing. I would knock off work and smash through a couple more episodes each night.
Watched the first half of the Hawks smash my Bombers one night, and thought stuff that, Im not watching this rubbish when I have the wire to get back to.
Is this my fav TV show? Most Def

Fav Character? Impossible question really, but I love the way that Bodie evolved through out the series. And Bunks hangovers were quality!

It's not the best season of The Wire, but it's still a fantastic season of TV.
agree with everything except 5 being terrible, its my least favorite season, mainly because of the fake story part, but Simon had more than enough runs on the board, happy to let him get a little self righteous
said it before, season 3 is my favorite but season 4 is the best

Up to about half way through Season 3 now, really enjoying it, rated the second season higher than the first personally.

Pretty much the same. I'm about 5 episodes into season 2 and loving it. I want to watch the wire again to compare.

I would agree. Can't get any better but The Wire is just so true and relevant to life that it just propels it beyond 10/10 stories like Deadwood and Breaking Bad. I give examples from The Wire when talking about so many things like economic systems, nature vs nurture etc.
I probably rate Six Feet Under (2 seasons in) like 0.1 ahead of others for similar reasons.
This is just my taste though. All incredible.

I would argue there are plenty of messages in Deadwood that are relevant even in the 21st Century. It is a particularly excellent commentary on the tension between the State and Federal governments in the U.S.A. that is still most certainly present today.

The Wire is the 2nd best show of all time after Oz which is amazing and probably wont ever be topped..
Deadwood is GOLD IMO
Its pretty good, but the Wire didnt have any characters that i didnt care for but in Deadwood the main whore from The Gem is starting to piss me off. I Just watched ep 2 of season 2 and F##K was main thing she said. I like swearing it's everywhere in real-life and I find it funny in most contexts but when its every 2nd word from an already shit character it angers me.
