Definitely. There's a lot of symbolism and stuff you could read into the wire and listening to David Simon speak you'd have to think most of it is deliberate and meaningful.
One example I read was where Simon wondered why no one ever questioned why Bunk and McNulty always get drunk at the railway line. Couldn't think of a real explanation there myself.
A brilliant one of course is the chess metaphor right throughout from season one until the scene where Bodie and McNulty discuss it 4 years later.

avon was also in OZ he played a guard who put a gun in the washing machine a ep or 2 before the roit.

There was that scene showing Stringer in his office calling the Baltimore Police operator asking for the West Baltimore Police Dept. (or whatever district is was) that Bunny Colvin was heading.
Stringer didn't know Bunny before that call.

colvin "bunny" was not in OZ.
if mean carvlin he was in oz also played a guard he was in about 17 eps.
Soooo I have now watched all The Wire, thought it was awesome and really enjoyed it as a whole I must admit however the last season was a slight let down.....

I meant Carver. Both him and Avon were in Oz as officers, could have sworn it was carver that put the gun in the washing machine in series 1.

1, 3, 4, 2, 5.
With there being a gap between 4 and 2, and then again between 2 and 5.

Thats what I thought to then I remembered that Carver gave Adebisi (?) a gun later in show as well which he gave to the French guy who killed Kenny and Poet if I remember correctly

Bodie is still my favourite character in the series, was shattered when he got killed. Are shows such as The Corner, Deadwood and Oz worth watching?
I still can't decide which I like better: The Wire, or the early seasons of Homicide: Life On The Street.
I didn't really like The Corner, but a lot of people did. Oz is very good. Deadwood is brilliant.

Trash? Neighbours is trash. Bold and The Beautiful is trash. A show that is pretty much critically acclaimed by the vast, vast majority of critics and educated viewers worldwide as well as being regarded as one of the greatest TV dramas of the 2000's, should never be mentioned in the same sentence as the word 'trash'.
Second season was crap
I found it boring and just lacked direction, didnt feel like it was going anywhere, Trixy is an annoying shit character too.
Im watching The Wire again now and it does make Deadwood look trash.
