Disagree. Marlo was far better than Stringer. Stringer was an arrogant twat. Has a massive superiority complex. Marlo thought he was the king of the street, while Stringer thought he was above the street.

which is why i thought he was a smarter more interesting character like prop Joe, just my opinion.

A lot people say that it is admirable of Stringer to try to move beyond the street, but I just found it disingenuous.
I liked the show exploring why all these guys are in that business - the clash between money and ego. It was maybe a little forced by the end, but they played it for long enough - even in Season 1 you can see it in the different ways Stringer and Avon want to deal with Omar.

^ What the fck did David Simon do to Mcnulty? Why's he speaking in a British Accent?

Reminiscent of this->

I am not sure if you are joking...

But if you are not Dominic West is actually from England, he puts on a Baltimore accent.

Same with Stringer (English) and Carcetti (Irish)

Didnt know that! but I watched the Wire knowing nothing about the actors, I knew a few of the faces have been on Oz (Bubbles, Carver, Daniels, Preston)

Mind you David Simon did cast Alexander "Eric Northman" Skarsgard in Generation Kill, and he spoke in an unseemingly American accent

Speaking of the Wire and the actors actually being English Irish etc, I was wondering about Mcnulty's reduced participation in Season 4 of the series?

Granted Carcetti (i'd vote for him) and Przybaluzki (the cop that became a teacher) took centre stage (they were both awesome characters) but was something going on for the actor playing McNulty to not be on screen that much in the fourth season?

Watching the series for a second time now. Just finished the first episode in season 3, where at the start the Franklin Terrace Towers are detonated and crumble. Anyone think this could be symbolism for the crumbling of the Barksdale Empire which happens in season 3?
