...and all of them by Prez!

Yeah it was Prez that pistol-whipped the kid. Don't think there was any gunfire from the cops in that scene though. Pretty sure he shot the undercover cop twice + accidentally shot the wall to make up the three shots.

I'm a huge fan of the wire, by far my favourite tv show of all time. A couple of years ago i went to america with a mate and Baltimore was added to the itinerary. We mapped out all the famous places from the show and tried hailing a taxi over to take us into west baltimore. The sun was starting to set after the 4th taxi driver told us under no circumstances would he be going into that area. When the 5th taxi pulled over I flashed a $100 note at him. When we jumped in he had no idea where he was going. He'd only been living in america for 6 weeks. We crossed over into west baltimore and I thought straight away it wasn't the greatest idea. There were boarded up row houses everywhere, blown up cars and no sign of any business eg: service station or food stores. Kids on bikes started circling the taxi and people were yelling at us from there front porches. I had initially planned to get out and grab some photos but decided it clearly wasn't safe. After about 20 minutes we drove back out. That night we told locals that we had gone into west baltimore, some had lived there all their lives and never gone anywhere near it. The tv show doesn't give it any sort of justice as to how dangerous it actually is. It made some of the rougher areas of melbourne look like hollywood.

i was going to do the same, I ended up catching the amtrack train from DC to Philly, started to see how bad it was and thought better of it and continued to Philly

Some of my mates pulled into Baltimore harbour however and reckon it was one of the best Port runs they have ever done

If you are a fan of working ports, Baltimore is (or was, not sure what it's like now) one of the best in the world. Fantastic energy, tons of interesting ships and activity. It's not a tourist town, but if you have the time it's worth a visit to see something different. And try the Maryland blue crabs - Crosetti wasn't wrong, they're awesome.

Never went out to the projects though - had no real interest. I imagine they must get a few rubberneckers since The Wire hit it big though.

Finally tonight, I will sit and watch the final episode. Feeling a bit sad that I'll never see another new episode again. Such a great show.

The DVD set that I bought a few years back won't fit my big screen TV. Get two dirty grey bars at each side...got 5 minutes into S01ep2 and gagf ...couldn't watch.
