Whats with JB selling it at $75 dollars a season. Was put off but sounds great. I ended up getting The Shield instead at $16 a pop. Hopefully its half as good.

They still only have the first two seasons which is stupid. My amazon.com order of seasons 3 and 4 arrived on Monday. Au$83, delivered to my front door.

There's also a show called The Last Word which is a 30 minute preview of season 5, but I can't seem to find it on YT or DM. It is on Mininova and probably other torrent sites.

The first episode should be floating around in the next day or so, which is about the worst news ever because I don't get my internet reset for another week

First two episodes have leaked onto piratebay. Haven't got them yet cause I'm lookin for confirmation on quality. The first seven should all be up pretty soon because they were sent out to journos/etc. (like last season when a big chunk of the season got posted in the space of a week).

Anyone who's seen them should probably start a 'spoilers' thread rather than discuss it here, though.

Downloaded the first episode, bit rough it's in wmv, but it's worth it just to see the opening scene. It's an absolute pisser

Video quality is the usual standard. There's just some static during opening and closing credit music.

Looks like they're out up to ep 7.

Just some advice, do not visit The Wire imdb boards, w***ers have watched 5,6,7 without 3,4 and are putting spoilers in subject lines. Unfortunately it seems I just caught a big one.

Discuss the show in here to keep the other thread clear of spoilers. It might be a good idea to label what episode you're talking about, given that there's a few released.

I just finished watching episode 1 and I loved it. The opening with the "lie detector" was great and basically the only thing I didn't like about the episode was the lack of Omar...and the new theme music.

I'm very interested to see what will come of Chris looking up Sergei. I'm thinking they might get someone on the inside to try and extract some info from him.

Seeing this is the Spoilers thread.... the need to find Sergei brings an old favourite back into the fold for the second episode.

Marlo goes to the prison to ask Sergei to help find the greek, and who walks out but Avon and he delivers a scorcher of a monologue with a choice quote "see, up in this bitch, I'm what you might consider an authority figure." And he demands 100k be paid to his sister so things can go any further.

Plus Chris and Marlo were talking about getting 'the **********' back, so no doubt they've got some plans to draw Omar out.

There's some brilliant lines throughout the first 2 episodes. Such a shit I'm stuck at 2, missing 3-4 yet having 5, 6, 7.

Michael isn't all the way to being a hardcore gangsta and can still save himself from the life. I think Chris knows this as well.

McNulty and The Boston Strangler is nuts. I can't wait to see where this goes.

Seen episode 3

Wasn't quite sure about this episode, well just mainly McNulty, he was truly coming off as a crack pot. Bunk wouldn't have anything to do with his strangler cases and tries to pull Lester in, to talk sense into McNulty and Lester says tells McNulty he's ****ed up, if he wants to create a serial killer the killer has to be sicker than just strangling people.

The evil of Chris and Snoop finds new depths, they rolled up on Butch. Good to see Omar back, looks like he's been living the good life in central America, but he'll be back on the streets of Baltimore soon. Let's hope he cuts through Marlo, Chris and Snoop.

Couple of other notable appearances, The Greek and 'Ashy Larry' Clay Davis's driver.
