It's an RPG, was out on computer maybe a year ago?!? And won a few awards and nominated for PC game of the year.
I don't really know how to describe it, it's quite a unique RPG. someone else may be better at describing the game.

For what it's worth the Xbox version has been rating 9/10 on most reviews.

Only played roughy 5 hours but can already see its going to epic

Will be getting this as soon as I'm finished with placement for uni, the first one was great, although I felt a 360 controller would have been better for controls, luckily the 2nd one has been ported over. :thumbsu:

When I bought The Witcher 1, I never got round to finishing it because Mass Effect 3 came out and took preference, hopefully history doesn't repeat with Diablo 3.

Bought it the other day and played for about 15 mins to get a feel. I know I am going to have massive sessions on it.

Also just borrowed ME3 and CODMW3 so plenty of gaming to be had.

Witcher 1 is pretty good with the big patch released, but I really didn't enjoy it as much as I would have thought.

Witcher 2 has all the good bits without the bad. Bloody brilliant game.

I assumed u played this on PC? How many hour you think you poured into it?

Did you have a long learning curve in fight scenes? Found it very hard to take on 2-3 at a time? Any tips?

Hmmm I'm not sure how long I put into it, but I loved the story.

For fighting: Worked out early that dodging and weaving and wittling down one opponent at a time was the way to go. Start with the weaklings/hard hitters who are fast enough to keep up with you and kill your way to the shielded dudes/big boss.

Duck and weave! That's the best tip for early on in the game! Also don't forget to use everything at your disposal as you progress, not just your sword!

Console noobs.

Been out on pc for ages.

That being said.. would have to give it a 10/10

Well aware how long it has been out on PC. It was just released on 360.
How would that make us console noobs anyway?

Played it on pc when it came out. Loved it, great they've done a console port. Does it hold up alright? Need to replay it with all the new content.

I would explain it as being very much in the same context of Game of Thrones. The story largely revolves around a rapidly changing political landscape of the area and power-games between different characters you meet, a lot of countries are on the verge of war and you're in the middle of it trying to find a guy who is going out and killing leaders of various countries. Very much driven by conspiracy, different players underhanding each other and so forth. What makes it more interesting is that you play what is essentially a monster hunter, gives you a bit of the fish out of water feel as your character really has no interest in political conflicts but by no choice of his own is thrust into the middle of it all.

I've started playing.

I don't really understand it. Does one need to have played the first game to follow this?

It would help but you only really need to know how the first game begins and ends to understand it.

A GiantBomb Quick Look (40 mins) of the Witcher 2 on 360. Should give those with hesitations enough of a look to know whether or not it's for them. Also helps that Vinny, the one not behind the controls, has played the game through on PC so he gives a good comparison of what the port is like.

After slowly becoming disillusioned with Diablo 3 ( playing with a few BF gamers was main appeal recently) due Blizz's total service failure there... I decided to pick this up on PC for $25 (inc game guide and DVD bonus).

Will give it a crack tonight , so am looking forward to it. Hopefully, similar to other action RPGs like Diablo and Skyrim.

Played a few hours of it and it's good.
Surprisingly it's full of adult material that is pretty funny

It's good to see you've found the light and crawled out of that diseased hell-hole.

Rushing through The Witcher 1 again before I get into Witcher 2- mainly so I can import my save and also cos I didn't like some of the decisions I made on my first playthrough.

I just hope Witcher 2 doesn't crash as much as Witcher 1!
