In this save I will be managing the Australian national team, affectionately known as the Socceroos, in an attempt to make them the best side in Asia and eventually a team capable of competing with the world's best, like our 2006 'Golden Generation' squad. I'll be looking to play expansive, attacking football in a move away from the traditional physical style seen by many Socceroos sides, and give opportunities to talented youngsters both at home and abroad.

FM21 does not factor in the impact of COVID and as such the story will start in mid-2020 with Australia having easily qualified to the final stage of the 2022 World Cup qualifying process.

Iran and Saudi Arabia look to be our biggest challengers for an automatic promotion spot, whilst Syria can often be a tricky fixture. Regardless, I expect us to comfortably qualify for the World Cup and we'll be working towards that end.
