What the hell are we doing in this list!?

During this 20 year period we went 10 straight years of it without losing more than we won in any of those 10 seasons, made the prelims in 5 of them and played in 3 GF's- drawing one and being level with 5 mins to go in another.

So far off a team like Carlton's last 20 years it's not even funny.

Essendon and Richmond should be excluded on the basis that they've won a grand final in the last 20 years. Every other team has played in one grand final with the exception being St Kilda playing in 2. Of the remaining three clubs, Fremantle has one spoon, Melbourne two and Carlton four.

Carlton has been the worst over the past 20 years.

I basically included clubs with the most spoons with regard to a premiership cancelling out a spoon.

Either Dees or Blues.

Dees probably hit the lowest point between the two however Blues were s**t then rebuilt and are s**t again.

Flip a coin.

The first club that sprang to mind was Carlton, just given all our spoons over that period, but looking closer at the Dees record over the last 20 years, it’s equally abysmal. Carlton have the two extra spoons. Melbourne have an extra bottom four finish and one more season of 5 wins or less.

At the other end of the scale, both have played in 2 PF’s and a GF for no flag, Carlton’s played in 7 finals series, Melbourne in 6. The longest stretch between finals for Carlton was 7 seasons in a row, for Melbourne it’s been 11 seasons now and counting.

It’s not pretty.
