Damir Dokic is a ****head.

I wouldn't worry about him getting into Australia at all as i'm 99% sure that he had his citizenship and passport revoked after the 2006 "I will Bomb Sydney incident".

Jelena should stay away from this scumbag.
 
Whilst I'm of the belief that the Australian media far too often sees things from a one-sided point of view (eg. say with Serbians that XFactor is mentioning), the case of Damir Dokic is extreme and does deserve criticism in my point of view.

Serbian people are not different. Damir is different because he is a complete tool. It's people like you that see clips of crowd violence between 2 or 3 countries link it with 1 mad psycho from that country and claim that a whole race is different. I'm sure there are a few crazy Croatian and Bosnian fathers out there, so I guess they are different too?

Pull your head in fool, Damir is a w***er, a select minority from a few groups are w***ers, dont go trying to paint a whole race/s as being different

When Jelena first started playing tennis and was starting to be noticed, her whole family (parents and brother) lived in a 2 bedr. flat in Sydney....she shared the 2nd bedr. with her younger brother...

When they went to Wimbledon the 1st time, they had a bedsitter....couldn't afford anything else..

So yes, this piece of slime is definately living off Jelena's money.....it was noted quite a few years ago that he was going through her money..

Jelena Dokic says her estranged father would be wasting his time flying uninvited to Melbourne to gatecrash her Australian Open welcome-home party.

With overbearing Damir reportedly considering jetting in from Belgrade if Dokic made the title match, Australia's comeback queen ruled out any possible reconciliation following her courageous fourth-round triumph on Sunday night.

Dokic rocked Rod Laver Arena once more to power into her first grand slam quarter-final since the 2002 French Open with a drama-filled 7-5 5-7 8-6 (EDS: correct) victory over talented Russian Alisa Kleybanova.

The 25-year-old said she feared having to retire while leading 6-5 in the deciding set after badly rolling her ankle before bravely sweeping to another spirited win to continue her astonishing revival.

Hearts were in mouths around the country when a clearly distressed Dokic immediately called for the tournament trainer and required a medical timeout after holding serve for 7-6.

But she refused to surrender and, opting against having the ankle taped, returned to the court swinging and broke Kleybanova to love, smoking a backhand return winner down the line on match point to send the capacity crowd into raptures.

Dokic will take on world No.3 Dinara Safina on Tuesday believing anything is possible after battling tenaciously for three hours and two minutes in claiming her third big scalp in five spectacular nights.

Anything, that is, except a happy family reunion involving Damir.

"I haven't had any contact (with him). It's the first I heard about it," Dokic said.

"Yeah, it's his decision (but) I've said always my whole story with him is finished.

"It would have to be an unbelievable miracle for him to change. I don't see that happening.

"I have my tennis and I have my life. I want to do it that way. Knowing him, I just don't see any possibilities.

"We are really different and really disagree on pretty much everything."

Ranked 187th after years in the tennis wilderness, Dokic had already dumped top-20 stars Anna Chakvetadze and Caroline Wozniacki from the tournament to raise hopes of the most unexpected and miraculous grand slam triumph in history.

And she did little to ease the hype with an even more incredible display against Kleybanova.

Aside from the spectre of Damir lobbing to town, Dokic took the court amid speculation she owed more than $60,000 to the family of a former Melbourne benefactor who supported the one-time world No.4 during her desperate years trying to make a successful return to professional tennis.

Once again, though, Dokic cast the external pressures aside to sweep to another spirited victory to close to within three wins of becoming the lowest-ranked grand slam champion ever.

Even if she loses to Safina, the born-again baseliner is likely to return to the world's top 100 for the first time since 2004 on Monday week.

After celebrating her first-set win with an almighty quadruple-double fist pump, Dokic dropped serve three times in the second set to allow Kleybanova back on level terms.

Australia's great hope looked gone when trailing 3-1 and love-30 in the decider, but refused to lie down - even after her injury scare.

"I was really exhausted physically but I kept fighting and the crowd was amazing in that third set," she said.

"It was hard to stay positive in that third set after I'd lost the second and I was a break down.

"I kept on fighting and it paid off.

"I wanted to put in a good performance in the first round and, once I got through that, I was really happy and I achieved my goal for the tournament.

"This is unbelievable to be in the quarter-finals of a grand slam. I was going to have the week off, then play Fed Cup.

"It's great to have done so much in one tournament. I was aiming to be in the top 50. Now I guess I'll have to re-assess that goal as well."

I just hope every doorman/tennis official etc, get told to keep this guy right away from Melbourne Park if he turns up..

Also hope the papers + t.v reporters don't make a big thing of him, or pay for him to come here for an "exclusive"........

Then again, I hope they stop him at the airport and turn him right around back onto the next flight home to Serbia!.......if he does turn up..

I don't think they'd be able to stop him coming into the country, but Jelena seems to have made her stance in regards to him so it would be a waste of time and money for him.

From her point of view it's impossible to see what it would achieve reuniting with him.

Now that she's back in the winners books he suddenly wants to come back into the fray and "re-unite" with his daughter. It's highly doubtful he will stick around during the hard times if they do occur again.

He is just a complete lunatic and it appears he has little respect for the care and wellbeing of his daughter.

Mr Ninovic, who speaks almost daily to Dokic, said his friend was torn and tortured by the questionable efforts of an Australian current affairs crew to fly him to Australia.

Jelena has made it clear during interviews that she has not spoken to her father for years and has no plans to resume a relationship with him.

He does not live on the outskirts of Belgrade. In fact he lives about 70 km. from Belgrade in the middle of nowhere in a village called Vrdnik. I know all this because I am Serbian and know the country and have actually been to this place where he now lives. There is nothing there. The only thing of note is probably a rehabilitation spa, which is where he belongs because he is a ****** of the highest order.
He should just stay away from her and shut up. He had his chance and ruined the whole family.
If he had any brains in the first place, he should have taken some treatment for alcohol abuse and just let her play tennis.
He took all her money and left her struggling.
I just hope the boyfriend has sincere intentions towards her and does not also see her as a Golden Goose and use her. I have heard stories and hope they are not true.
She is the Golden Goose and everyone wants a piece of her. :rolleyes:
It would be a wonderful story if she won the tournament.:D
