Sorry if I've missed this news elsewhere, but can someone please inform me of what is happening with theblueview site?? Can't get into it the last couple of days.
Thanks.

Since I handed over the site, I had a dispute with the hosting company over what $$ was owed on the site. They tried to charge me a year's hosting bandwidth database etc the day after last year's lot expired, without consultation, and given circumstances i found it a bit rich (on principle). I offered them a settlement and they didn't get back to me, and now they've said unless it's paid in full (around $600) they won't be redirecting it back to the present database (which has since been relocated as far as i know).

My suggestion has always been to establish an ezine and have the forums there as another feature, I think this may present that chance but time will tell as to how many people are willing and motivated to help get it off the ground.

So the question is
Can the site be accessed at all at present and if so what is the current address.(I'm sick of the flowers)

Due to their dispute with Deej, melbournehosting.com, who were the ISP we used for theblueview.org before we moved to bigfooty servers, have redirected the domain name, rather than sorting the dispute.

ODN and myself were unaware of the dispute until the redirect occurred Monday, hence were caught unawares.

I have informed melbournehosting.com that we are considering our legal position, and will publicise what they have done to our domain name, i.e. disabling our domain name rather than settling the dispute.

you can also access the site using http://bluebaggers.com

That would've been awesome. Hope it's still possible.

I've been building something similar actually, and I know how difficult it is to get tech'ies and writers onboard. Good luck with it.

I'm no longer the person to lead it, my online reputation right or wrong is shot. Everyone's the loser with so many carlton sites and so little variety, just more forums....
Hopefully the people in charge can round all the necessary people up and bring everyone together in a way i failed to do.
If it gets off the ground it'll be the best thing to happen online to the Carlton internet community since TBV was set up.

Think 'The Fanatics', but aimed more towards domestic sports like AFL, NRL, and Super 14s. It'll involve tipping, tours, merchandise, ect... It's something for all Australian sports lovers, not just Carlton fans.

But by all means, someone (or someones) should build something similar for the Carlton community.

It takes a heck of a lot more time and money than a simple forum though, believe me. I'm aiming to have mine up and running by March next year.

Whoever does it, it has to be organised in an inclusive way so that everyone feels welcome. But in my opinion it shouldn't pander to any of the established online carlton 'community', it shouldn't be designed or run along the lines of what already exists. This project would be something to attract the sort of people that don't frequent internet forums just as much as those that do, i'm sure there are 10-fold the number of Carlton supporters surfing the net for Carlton news as there are Carlton supporters posting on carlton internet forums. These people are just as important if not more important to reach as those who are established forum regulars. (and it's about at this point where i think i started to lose everyone....) :)
