Whilst we have the best facilities in Victoria for training I question if we have the best out door ski training facilities.

The ground at the Lexus Centre is not protected and constantly windblown.

Williamstown Ground is always wind blown.

We play generally at the MCG which has very little wind.

Our players do not seem to be kicking well outside 40m

Is it a case of training as you play?

Essendon seem to have kicked accurately all year.

Or is it our second one of those years?

When you have a team full of blokes who generally can't hit targets by foot, it's a logical progression to also have a team full of blokes who can't kick goals.

Ok, this year a player who was rated as one of the best set shots in the league comes to the club and he's kicking goes downhill, why?

I believe that the players do not spend enough time goal kicking at training. remember that these blokes are paid so well that most of them will not need to work for years after they're retired from football, yet they can't spend an hour extra on the track working on their goal kicking.

God if I miss a set shot on a sat'day I'll spend a good half an hour before and an hour after training just kicking set shots. (I do kick around 90%).

Our forwards arent the only ones to blame tho. our midfielders don't kick long enough to the forwards, meaning they have more set shots at around 50m.
Tarrant leads far too often to the pockets, Buckley is the only one at the moment who i would give the ball to, to kick for my life.

I love the blokes who use these forums to pump up their own tyres. I'm sure there are plenty of good footballers who frequent these boards, the ones who are real good will never talk about it.
