I would regard the sensationalism of "catastrophic" Climate Change and the need for immediate and often times drastic action is one of them.

In general, I don't see Transgender rights as far left but elements of it could be. I'm all for Trans people being treated fairly and with respect but I have an issue with the idea of Trans Women using women's change rooms for a few reasons. 1. Many biological women feel this is an invasion of their privacy and their safety and it also effects many other women in our multi-cultural country for cultural reasons. 2. And I'll start by prefacing that I do not suggest that this directly relates to trans people at all, but it concerns me that there are other parts of our community that could try and take advantage of this. The lowest of the low in our society like sex predators and pedophiles. A number of the moderators that frequent that board claim themselves as being far left. So when it comes to the rules of that board, it feels like they are very open to interpretation. Therefore I often feel like it's better to say nothing in fear of being banned or shouted down and name called.

I don't believe being trans allows you to sexually abuse minors, so the same laws that currently apply would still apply.

It's not a both-ways argument though. It doesn't equally apply the opposite way in the form you're trying to present it.

The 'algorithm' exists for everyone, but not everyone (or even most) are vulnerable to falling for the misinformation aspect of it. Some, those who are vulnerable in some form, do fall for it. Once you fall for it, you're presented with endless amounts of the same type of content, that further entrenches the world view.

There's a reason that belief in creationism is highly correlated with belief in conspiracy theories; it requires a similar suspension of disbelief to believe in both.

There was a great documentary on flat-earthers, where it really nailed the community aspect of it. That once you start down the path, and isolate yourself from family, frineds and community, that the flat-earth community becomes the only community you know. You're locked in to it, so even if you have doubts, you have no social network outside of the flat earth community, so are stuck at least pretending to continue to believe. Often it's taking in people who are already socially isolated, providing them a sense of community where belief in <things> is what brings you together, and it becomes a self-reinforcing cycle.

Shared interests bringing people together isn't new, and it's not necessarily unhealthy when those interests are stuff like supporting an AFL football team (at least as long as it's not Carlton) or being part of a book club. It becomes unhealthy when the beliefs bringing you together are simply fabrications, and especially so when they urge the community to take 'action' in some form. We've seen it with Nazism, now having a weird resurgence in the RWNJ community that Trump courted and validated to support his presidency that is by far the most dangerous form of terrorism in Western countries.
