I reckon I've seen them on my local beach (Sellicks Beach). Quite often there are albatross-looking birds on the beach there, but usually in the cooler months.

From year 10 History class I recall the term Croweater came from our early settlers eating the black birds referred to as Crows that more fussy people (and technically correct) call Raverns.

BTW our (SA) first Colonial footy jumper was black and white, like Collingwood. Tbis was after the Piping Shrike They actually stole it from us when they couldn't wear blue red and white in the VFL as a club called Britannias existed with those colours. That club had folded before Footscray entered the VFL from the VFA.

Salisbury Footy Club was one of the first to wear black and white. Before Collingwood and Port.
