There is something about Colyer

Colyer is one of those players, that until I'd seen him play live, I didn't appreciate as much as I needed to. His work off the ball is sublime, strangely good combination of speed and endurance.

he ran 150 metres with 90 seconds to go against Hawthorn to get himself in a position to receive that handball from Chappy

that is gut-running of the highest order.

Always had a good tank - remember his first year - Game against Freo in perth - Essendon was blitzed but Colyer ran hard all night.

I'm wondering where poeple see Trav playing in 2017.
He certainly improved in his last year, getting his disposal average up over 16 and averaging a goal a game.
Most people have him best 22 and I love his pace and willingness to take the game on, but just not sure where he fits...
Is he a small forward or best played on a wing/outside mid? Is he best 22 or fringe now with the development of Ozario, Tippa, Laverde, Langford etc...??

Colyer is in our top 6-7 players.

His prediction has been technically incorrect so far (I.e. He is not top 3), but still great foresight. Well done Kelvin. Growing up so fast aren't ya! ;)

I had Colyer as the fourth or fifth most important (found it hard to split him and Myers) of the 12 to retain.

He is absolutely vital to us.
I reckon you just want him in so we have a player shorter than you.

in my mind im struggling to differentiate Colyer and Raz, maybe its becuase i havent seen him for a year.

Think maybe Raz is better overhead and craftier around goals, Colyer zippier in a straight line, gut runner, direct type of player?

surely thats our Forward pocket and wing sewn up for a little while to come.

Colyer is defensively suspect.

Watching Tippa and Fanta this year just shows how vital Colyer will be next year. It won't just be up to him now to provide that run and carry and with some good mids coming back for next year and entering his prime we could see Colyers best year yet next year!

I don't think Colyer is the smartest footballer on earth. He has good skills and his endurance/pace are both first class, but I don't think he positions himself too well around the ground often enough. He finds himself in the wrong spot too often but given his ability to work himself into the ground over 4 quarters his lack of footy smarts is masked.

Don't get me wrong, I rate Colyer, believe he adds great value to our side and is easily best 22, but that is my criticism of him. Because of his endurance and pace he's an impact player due to the way he can make plays late in quarters and late in the game, I'd like to see him find a way to be more involved throughout the game.

I doubt this will be a popular view and it could be that I don't see enough of him due to watching 95% of EFC games on TV, but it's what I think.

Start him off the back of the square and then to the wing.
Yep. My thoughts exactly.

His pace on the wing is vital to our future success. I can see him and Raz working well together.
