Bruce is the best commentator going around, he actually knows what he's talking about. It's not often he stuffs up with the players or stats like almost every other commentator. Anthony Hudson is the worst commentator by far, how did he get a Seven contract???

Anthony Hudson, just because someone is tackled, it doesn't mean it's holding the ball.

Ian Robertson, you never get a free kick in footy for a "strong or harsh tackle", say it was for "too high" or "in the back".

Bloody look, the umpires always give a signal if there is an official signal for the free kick. Only the rarer free kicks don't have a signal. Don't make up some lame arse reason for the free kick when you can't bother to look at the umpire to see what it was for. Makes me wonder why they (the umpire giving a signal) bother sometimes.

Does anyone else get the feeling that Anthony Hudson is a Bruce McAvaney wannabe! Only difference is he's younger, knows less about footy and is more annoying, if that's possible!
I like Sandy but he does get annoying sometimes, I reckon Dennis "centimetre perfect" Commetti is the pick of the bunch!

Bruce McAvaney is a race-caller who got "promoted sideways" into football ... and still calls football the same way he called the races. His basic fault is the same fault that all the Channel 7 commentators have got. They give TOO MUCH INFORMATION and don't know when to shut up. They are giving radio-style commentary, which is completely unneccesary for television.

The biggest dickhead in football commentary, however, would have to be Sandy Roberts. He really should be compering a game show or something. He is a total drip when it comes to football.

As for Doug Hawkins ... well, he's just brain-dead.

I've been listening to Huddo since he was on 3AW's 'B' Team. I long held the view that he was one of the best callers on radio.

It was no surprise that he was picked up by Channel 7 and would expect him to be used by 9 in the coming years.

Like Bruce, Huddo has the ability to make even a dull game more lively than it actually is.

I thought the only reason why Channel 7 gave John Russo a gig was to sit next to Robbo and explain the rules to him. I think 7 got rid of Russo once they realised that this was a lost cause and that Robbo was beyond redemption!

Sandy Roberts would have to be the most inane of all the commentators. It sounds like he has a small library of cliches and continually regurgitates them according to what is happening. I don't think he has made an original comment for at least 10 years! Commentary on autopilot!

I dont know why you all hate Bruce so much. He's probably the best caller there is, he knows a lot about the game, brings a bit of excitement to it and has the right voice.

It would have to be matty campbell he is the most annoying....and KB he calls it like hes still on radio...and nearly every player is an "ex-tiger"....Damn wish he would shut up...its as if hes still rubbing it in to richmond....also Dermie...sometimes he talks garbage....hes got good ideas but his ego is huge.Paul couch is dumb dumb dumb...all he does is laugh and speak like he is reading something off a piece of paper spelt by doug hawkins....

from pay tv for anyone who watches footy feedback ....andy maher...can that guy stop trying to be mike sheehan....he is exactly the same mouth open when some one says something and wont shut up.....

the best....not many...bruce is the best....but he gets to his climax when some one kicks a goal.

also when the season is on...peter daicos and mark harvey..on footy focus on optus..they are the biggest stooges in the football commentating business...

In my opinion Neil Kerley is the worst. He needs to retire or keep up with the modern game.
As far as the best goes I think that Dermott Brereton is head and shoulders above the second best. I hope he moves to Fox when 7 loose the rights. I am afraid that 9 will be too Sam and Eddie so FOX have the opportunity to build up a credible team who are not long out of the game, for when the 5 year agreement is up.
