People say Broken Hill is a shithole but from what I hear of Kalgoorlie it is positively refined by outback Aus standards. Even Mildura is a bigger shithole full of more trouble making shitheads despite there being 'more to do'.

Broken Hill still has the class thing though where people are grouped in to A, B or C graders which some may find a bit quaint.

Sounds more like territorial tribalism then....If the newbies thumb their noses at needing the locals acceptance & are self-sufficient & competent enough, then it simply doesn't work....As the smarter one's will ascertain quickly enough.
Besides....Broken Hill is a complete provincial shit-hole entirely.....So anyone with a grain of talent, sense or intellect wouldn't hang about there for too long anyhow.
