Myki is ok but the system has some flaws. Like short term guests of Melbourne have to buy a myki card.

You can't top up your myki on a tram. So if you realise you have no money on your myki once you're on the tram you have to get off and top up at a 7/11. And you HAVE to do this on my tram because inspectors are always on that tram line.

Often the touch off points aren't working so I get charged the maximum trip for not being able to touch off.
Yeah it has flaws but for my usage i rather like it, however i pretty much never get the tram and get on or off at major stations.

This is also something that isn't immediately obvious to visitors.

Can't you set up Myki to direct top up from your bank account or credit card when it drops to a certain level?

I have that for my E-Tag on my car.
Yeh you can. Although, if the top up doesn't go through for some reason, your Myki gets suspended regardless of whether there is still a balance left on it. And you can't fix it through the ticket machine, you need to call them up, pay by credit card, then wait 24 hours...

Not to mention myki is essentially useless when going to the footy. Getting off at Richmond station results in a massive swell of people, meaning they don't get you to swipe off anyway. After the footy, you can't really swipe on, meaning you may not be able to get out of your station on the other end (depending on where you get off).
If you are travelling on a weekend or public holiday it is just a flat fee anyway isn't it, so no need to tap off when you get there. Same on Friday nights if you are travelling after 6pm, I think it is the same as the metcards were where after 6pm the 2-hour fare gets you through until the last train.

Getting to the aus open was worse, they didn't even open the station right up, so you had thousands of people trying to get out of the tiny exit on the Aami park side of Richmond station.

Richmond Station should be totally redeveloped, and probably moved further west and integrated better with the sporting precinct. It's a very busy station through peak hour too, just could work so much better.

There is interest in the air rights from developers already, the state government need to get their act together on it..

True story........waiting for a tram in St Kilda Road last week, there was a few delays because of the work going on. Young woman next to me, bitched and moaned for the entire 20 minutes Whilst waiting for the tram that she was going to be late for work. Tram arrives, she gets on....gets off very next stop which was less than a couple of hundred metres away. WTF?....... Thinking she must have got on the wrong tram, and she must be getting off to catch the right one, i was suprised to see her be greeted by another woman, and observed them walk into the Toll Building.
Now that is lazy....she could have walked it in less than 5 minutes, instead she waited 20 mins for the tram
On a scale of 1 to fat how obese was she?

when i tell someone (late 20's and she has a degree in business studies) that for a web-site to work for them properly they'll need to clear their cookies, cache and temporary internet files, they don't know what to do...

i know you can get a degree without knowing how to use a computer but clearing your browser history is pretty much bottom of the rung stuff.
It's pretty much essential for any male post-14 to know this...

Will have to get a Myki for when I go out to Woodend on Sunday, am dreading the task. We have a similar system in Brisbane, but everyone seems to think Myki is terrible, I guess I'll find out why.
Due to being from Tassie, I go on trams with a heap of coins. If I ever get done, I'll present my coins and explain that I used to be able to buy tickets on the tram, I'm from Tassie and didn't know any better. All my other old excuses with MetCard always worked ;)

Don't get why you can be waiting at a pedestrian crossing and someone will come up and press the button....Like they were the first to think of that!
The amount of times I've been second to the lights only for that little green man to not come up cause that first moron didn't press the button

Why girls go out most weekends as a group and dance to lame-arse music. All chicks I know just love doing this. They hit the dance floor and stand around singing every song that comes on and this is supposedly fun...???
