The obsession with HD. I have a pretty big LCD screen, and sure stuff looks a bit better in HD, but I am not going to freak out every time a station screens a sporting event in SD. Maybe it's because I grew up watching sport on a little CRT screen but it really doesn't detract from my enjoyment of it.

Why Australian governments spend hundreds of millions of dollars designing swipe systems for public transport like Myki that have all sorts of problems and cost blowouts in development, instead of just picking the best one from somewhere else in the world and using that.

The criteria that art judges use. I read an article the other day about a piece that was shortlisted for a major British sculpture prize that was essentially just the artist's unmade bed. Literally, she got out of bed one day and submitted it unaltered for the prize. I mean, I get that art is often abstract and I don't expect to understand it all but surely there should be some degree of artistic intent behind its creation before you can call it that.
Yeah, nah! If you can't appreciate HD to the extent of absolutely hating SD, then you clearly lack appreciation for visual entertainment and sound.

This... I grew up watching sport on a shitty CRT TV and if anything it makes me appreciate HD even more. I hardly consider it an obsession, more a baseline which should be met far more often than it is, the fact we've had HD capable tvs for years, most households have at least 1 HD TV and yet sport is still only shown in SD on free to air. It's a joke, add into that how subpar streaming services and the internet here is and it makes me wonder if we'll ever get it right.

I have a mate who will rant at you for half an hour about why Rekorderlig is rubbish. Too sweet, made out of concentrate rather than real apples, etc.

If he has to drink a commercial brand he will drink Bulmers, but he maintains that none of the big brands are anything like 'real' scrumpy cider.
Sounds like a flog

Agreed. The only exception i've had, and this sounds kinda weird, but i've had solid success pulling chicks in gay clubs over the last year or so.
get on it lads. got a double whammy last night (although one was always locked in the bag).

canadian chick from this post (the 4/5 out of 10 chick, who's a bit hotter now since i met her in NZ cause she's lost about 5kg's) arrived in sydney a few days ago. been on it all night, so we went to arq about 2am. the two of us got pretty chummy with 3 other chicks. about 4am canadian decides she's gonna head back to her hostel cause she's too tired/drunk. i take the calculated risk that i can score one of the other three and tell her i'm gonna hang around for a little while. she looks very confused but **** it.

within half an hour i'm putting one through one of the chicks (7/10) in the toilets. a little while later i lose them, but i think they might have just got bored with me cause i eventually spotted my bird hooking up with some other bloke. she's a mad goer. good on her. the world needs more chicks like that. i got a sneaky kiss with some other girl but she's not having a bar of the toilets and i'm looking pretty ******* seedy at this point so decide that i'm done with arq.

go for a couple of lone celebratory beers across the road in the courthouse. gets to about 8am and i give the canadian a call, and she's keen so go back to her hostel and get a second root in her dorm room with 5 other backpackers all looking on in horror as they're about to start they're sunday wholesome activities but i am that ******* blind i couldn't give two shits. but i do think she's gonna have to change hostels.

seriously lads, these gay bars are like shooting fish in a ******* barrel. and last night there was **** all birds in there for whatever reason. usually it's about a quarter to a third chicks. last night it was probably 10%.

EDIT: sorry thought this was the guide to getting a women thread. but **** it, i'm that on top of the world right now, nothing is ******* changing that.

EDIT II: sorry, forgot to give my binary ratings for both girls from above. they're both 1's.

People who, despite making thousands and sometimes tens of thousands of posts (not to mention how many posts they have read), continue to put a space before a question mark. There are some who even put a space before a comma.

I don't get it, do they think everyone else is wrong?

Why can't traffic lights be programmed to understand that traffic conditions and requirements at 8.00am Sunday are not the same as for 8.00am Monday?

Also the cost of building stuff. Near me they are adding an extra lane to the Mitchell freeway. According to the sign near it, it's costing $38 million! $38,000,000. What's that, 20 times the average earner's lifetime wages? The road is already there. All we are going to be doing is driving in what is currently the emergency lane. For about 5km. What on earth do they spend the $38,0000,000 on?

In the recent WA election, a figure of $51,000,000 PER KILOMETRE was being thrown out for train lines. How did anything ever get built?

24 concerts - mostly sold out, across Australia - says yes, whether you like it or not she is one of the more popular artists around at the moment and fact number 2 according to your reckoning that means there are shit loads of bogan chicks and bogan mums running around this country. Maybe you will get lucky and see them out in pink Lycra and can start mowing them down

Pink is what she is and I could think of nothing worse than listening to her but that's not what this discussion started out about so I'm done with it. I don't mind what music people choose to listen to, it's a personal thing and I'm certainly not going to deride their choices but you carry on
I keep saying that Pink is perfect for the bogan. Bogan dads wanna do her, bogan mums wanna be her. Win ****en win for pink.
