I've never carried a case for work, always a backpack. I'm mostly WFH except when visiting a local client (most Zoom meetings interstate), but then it'll be a backpack. They're just so much easier / convenient.

My dad gave me his phone the other day. Somehow he had enabled a setting that required him to enter his pin code to unlock the phone and then again to access the messaging app (aka the only app he uses). He also had one person as a pinned contact in the messaging app.

Now I don't know how he came to be in this predicament nor do I really care, but despite having never owned an iPhone I fixed both issues by instinct in about 20 seconds. He looked at me like I am some sort of wizard. And I felt young. And then I got up from a chair and made a noise and that moment passed.

I don't really think of Gerard as old, but I can't process that I was listening to him on the radio when he was in his 20s. He's been around for ages and in my mind he's been a middle aged dork for all of that time.
