People always say this whenever its found out someone is a campaigner.

"he looks like an abuser"
"looks psycho"

Its just confirmation bias... Campaigners look like every other person... Before it all came out everyone would have said he looked like a genuine bloke.
I didnt say he looked like an abuser or psycho, just he was a bit floggy

Is anyone really surprised by Burke? I thought it was well known the bloke was a complete ****head/borderline psychotic
There were certainly rumours that he was an arrogant arsehat. He actually had it written in everyone at Channel 9's contract that they had to appear on his show if he wanted them.

I remember Darryl Summers was the only one to tell him to GTFO.

A friend of mine back in the early 90s was a concierge at a big hotel in Sydney. He helped Rolf Harris get his stuff to his room and apparently Rolf spent the entire time swearing like a trucker and yelling at his assistant in the lift and on the phone to someone else. Learned a few new words too.

Amazingly, what we see on TV or in the movies is often not what the person is really like.

Darryl Somers would have been one scary guy too I'd imagine.

(not in the same way Burke was tho)

Love Daz tho. I did go to a taping of when Hey Hey came back for that brief period. IIRC 2009, just after we had won the flag.

Footy reference in GD. Boo !!

:)

Yeah, I dont remember ever hearing any stories about Summers and a lot of the people from the show still are in the industry so it would be easy for them to come forward.

It never ceases to amaze me. It actually takes a lot more effort to be an arsehole than to just be polite and move on. I heard a story about an actor who over a 9 month movie shoot never once looked their assistant in the eye. Every day the assistant would go to their hotel or trailer and walk them to the car or set, carrying their stuff, holding an umbrella when it rains, getting them food, etc. Never once looked at. Never once spoken to.

How the hell much effort must that be to never once do it, even by accident. It would have to be something you deliberately consider. "okay, when the door opens, do not look. If they say good morning, do not respond" etc.

Then you have actors who on the first day buy everyone pies and throw a party.

We wore our footy gear.

I mean Daz is a massive Geelong fan, and we won it a few days before.

Didnt make one reference to the premiership tho, the big campaigner.

Lol that kinda reminds me of an episode of Frontline.

"Um, arent they high fiving each other, dont they have to be in the studio at the same time?"
"Absolutely not- this is TV, everybody hates everyone"
-Jane Kennedy walks in-
"Jan it says here im high fiving the weatherman"
"You wont be high fiving him darling, it will just appear that way"
"Good because im not touching him"

:D
