Seeing a cop shoot a kangaroo on the side of the road, on way to work today.

Not particularly pleased skippy got killed but makes for a more interesting ride to work that's for sure.

So happy with this.

How's this for a playing schedule?

That was back when an Ashes tour of England went for about 6 months, I guess when they travelled there by boat you had to make the most of it.

These days teams fly in and fly out for a test series in the space of a couple of months.

That playing schedule

All but playing every day and I noticed the tests have 4 playing days with a rest day

Bet those bowlers didn't have a maximum number of overs they were allowed to bowl by sports science clowns
Second Test at Lords ends on 26/6, and they then had to schlep down to Taunton, which would have been a decent trip in those days to plat Somerset the next day. Amazing.

North Melbourne found a less painful way to delist players by the looks of it.

I had to stop suddenly in the rain to let a family of racoons cross the road the other day. Guy behind me almost rammed into me. Probably wondered why I stopped for a pest. I thought it was a dog at first.

There's a good story in AB's 89 Ashes Diary when they had to play a county the morning after regaining the Ashes, an incredibly hungover/still pissed team of course. Blokes dropping easy catches, think even Boony dropped one at short leg, funny morning of cricket apparently.

Not the least bit a baseball fan, but I'm following it on the Guardian live blog, what a year it will have been for underdogs.
I don't care that much either. Might put baseball on a few times a year. This is kind of an historic one though. Plus, a big game on makes me feel less guilty about a couple of drinks on a Wednesday night!

Had to look it up. Thought 108 years for the Cubs was the longest drought in pro-sport. A couple of Scotish football teams waited longer though. St Johnstone went 130 years.

Makes me somewhat feel better about all those Grand Final losses for the Cats!
