Went out with my AgedCare helper for my fortnightly two hours today. After stopping at the pharmacy, we went into Woolies. As she was pushing me in my hybrid walker, a gentleman, 50ish, came up to her to thank her for her job and how important it was. It was totally unexpected. If not for AgedCare services, I don't know if I'd still be alive today. My life is certainly much better than it would have been without the help. I think my helper almost cried. That brief comment made both our days. I'm going to let my agency know about the compliment.

I remember the one that hit near Mansfield (Vic) in 21, it was like 5.8/5.9 and I felt it in Geelong - originally thought it was a truck driving past until I realised it had to be different, and the house was moving a bit. With no immediate damage done it was like "cool, so that's an earthquake", but obviously felt bad for those more severely impacted by it

I'd say we feel a couple of small ones a year. 5.1 is larger than normal. People are aware a big one could happen any time and schools/daycares like to have emergency kits for the kids.
