Part 6 is over there:

We went to NYC over Christmas in 2017. It snowed on our last day there. Walking through Central Park was magical. One of the greatest days of my life.

I've been to NY twice - Nov for about 2 weeks, and then arrived on new year's day for 10 days

Unfortunately no snow on either visit - I was hopeful with the Jan visit but wasn't to be

It's immature and I don't encourage it, but I find it pretty funny that my almost 12 year old has had a growth spurt and keeps going on about being as tall as his Mums boyfriend.

Deep down, you are so pleased and proud as punch aren't you ? :D

Always wanted to visit Boston on Saint Paddy's Day. I bet it would be awesome

Always wanted to visit Boston on Saint Paddy's Day. I bet it would be awesome

It would be interesting, but it's not listed as one of the biggest cities for St Patrick's Day in the US

NY is #1 - I'm pretty sure they'd lead the way for a lot of major celebrations

Chicago is the other big one and they even dye the Chicago River green as part of the celebrations - that could be fun to see

The interesting thing with Boston is that because it's a big college town & a high student population, they're actually really strict when it comes to things like ID checks at bars & pubs - I've seen tourists on our pub crawl turned away as they ignored instructions to bring valid ID with them

Buffet breakfast always end in belly aches for me.

I pace myself, got there yesterday with a 90 minute time limit (7-10:30.... I rocked up just before 9).

Did a few warm up courses, and would give myself 5ish minutes after each sit down to let the food digest before going up for another food selection lap. Did a Seinfeld/Newman strategy, when I got the drink(s) I carried 2 glasses and filled both at the same time.

I just grabbed what I'd eat at home but larger clumps (lots of ham etc). I indulged with the eggs, I should cook them at home much more often than I do. One lap I went in with a MacGyver style strategy - I k ow how messy eggs can be so instead of slopping it on the plate, in order to fit more eggs on, I just grabbed multiple slices of bread as an "extra" base, then put the eggs on top. Eliminated the risk of the yolk going everywhere.

I only did it a handful of times last year, I'm doing it at least once more next week. Then I want to have a go at one back in Melbourne just to compare food selection and quality :p
