Oh, shit - I just went and had a look, expecting it'd just be a cheap, dumb robot vac.

It's not at all, it's a smart one with app control and mapping. The major feature that you'd get with the next step up would be a self-emptying function, but for the level that this is it's a very good unit for the price.

If you're looking at dipping your toe into the robot vac waters and don't want to spend a bunch, this Ecovacs at Aldi is a really good buy.

That said, no one should expect too much from the mopping of these things, they're a bit rubbish. And this is a very good price, but it's not outrageous, you'd get something at a similar price/level at Amazon for major sales like Black Friday and Boxing Day. So if you miss out, don't beat yourself up.

Ecovacs is a good brand. We got ours nearly a year ago. Yes, it's basic, so depends on what you expect from it. We only have 3 carpeted rooms and do one at a time so it's fine for us. The tiles we sweep and mop ourselves. Friends have a larger house and they let theirs roam all over of its own accord.

Self emptying would be awesome but taking out the little dust box and emptying it into the bin is no big deal. Maybe next time...
