Maybe I'm prone to over-romanticising Melbourne at times, but I can't tell you how much this story made me smile, it feels like a very Melbourne thing to do to preserve a much loved store and its community.

A mate (former?) of my brother owns a record store and a decade ago he had to move from one side a main road to essentially the other side of the road - they did the move after hours when the street was quiet but said it was still the hardest move he ever made

Moving across town was easier as you load up a vehicle to help with the move, but it wasn't exactly feasible with of such a short distance

Place I worked at did a renovation and went from a small single unit shop to a double story one three times the size and we had to pack up the old one and then restock the new one from scratch.

Pleases me/semi humble brag time buttt

After I returned from last years QLD holiday, I had a length of time in mind and thus had a rough guide as to the money/budget required for said luxury. I pretty much had the majority saved within 3 months.. did budget and save further for more fun as well.

This year I've been slacking, have saved here and there but not to the same extent as last year. But I've cracked the whip over the last few weeks and have already made headway into things (1/4 of my ideal budget so far).

I worked with some blokes from the UK early 2010s, the Lions came here around then, I’d never heard of it, the biggest thing ever for them.

Seeing on this news report that his mum just happened to mosy on down and catch him was pretty funny too. I mean, must have been awful for her, but I have this mental image of a guy, he's coming down off meth, he's been mown down like a 9-pin after impacting a lot of innocent people, the fuzz are treating him rough as guts, you're low as shark shit, you're undergoing the most undignified arrest of all time. How can things get any bloody worse?

Unfortunately in Victoria he’ll probably already be out on bail and the cops will be stood down…
