Went to a bulk store to buy an appliance which had been reduced in price. No salesperson came near me. While I waited I went onto their website and discovered a link inviting customers to go on their chat and ask for “best price”. So I did. Still no salesperson around so I asked the chat person for the best price on this appliance. They knocked $30 off the sale price!

When a salesperson finally approached I showed them the chat and success!

Exactly 50 years ago today I arrived in Australia for the first time on a jumbo jet filled with American teachers. I was assigned to teach at Avondale High School. I had planned on staying for two years, but stayed for 25, three and a half at AHS and then teaching in Catholic schools in Box Hill, Ringwood, Salter Point WA and Bundoora.

I retired from teaching in 2000 and returned to the US for the next 17 years being caregiver to my elderly parents. I returned to Australia in May 2017 to spend my final years in the country that I learned to love. I am now living in a retirement village due to my health.

I never would have imagined on that arrival day in 1975, that I would be here 50 years later. Best decision I have ever made. That indeed, pleases me.

Got up early was cold AF on the weather ap. But went out anyway.
Wanted to do a beach walk to Bells but I didn't have a collier for my of my dogs if walked on the track.
Tide not low enough.

But had a good lock at the sea caves and arches etc.
Got pies and donuts and home before the rain.

I dress according to the weather of my destination.
When I've gone to QLD, I'll wear shorts & runners.... will carry a jumper in case the cool air from the vents annoys me.
