My ma's been in the country since 1971 and she still sounds straight of the boat, although it's an English rather than Scots accent. My father still speaks with a Zimbabwean accent as well, I have some tapes of me and my brother when we were about three that my folks made for grandparents, who still lived overseas and we have this bizarre hybrid African/English accent. Rather amusingly, I'm singing Fernando by Abba on one of them, it's also funny to hear my father bewailing the Whitlam sacking given that I don't think he's voted ALP since the late 1980s.

I have an aussie accent, not a hint of Scottish at all.

I've got a hint of an English accent but I lived there for ten years, it's probably a of a combination of that and the long voweled Adelaide accent.

Was on the train this morning and there was a bloke who looked exactly like that fat sooky bearded one from the wall who hangs around with the girl who has the baby to her own father
