i believe someone in this post championed the use of hairpins to remove wax from ears. advice noted and heeded today. removed chunks with much glee. gratitude to those who advised.

photo taken to demonstrate effectiveness. on request i can be posted here

I would love to see the results, unashamedly so

I could not dislike more. Australia is a country of support, of opportunity, of the belief you can succeed off your own back, not your last name. A very large part of that is the 'safety net' it provides, which helps to keep families together in times of strain and provides the opportunity to get a "fair go".

This policy is designed to push the working class back down "where they belong", removing the carrot (of 'becoming wealthy' for middle-class), and replacing it with the stick (of becoming the working class), all whilst reinforcing the 'entitlement era' of those lucky enough to be born into prosperity. Everyone better start lifting harder, as the elite want a better view, and they shouldn't have to stand to see better. The "Class Triangle" just got a LOT steeper.
This legislation will force 1000s of unsupported or mistreated youth into homelessness. It will destroy small towns and villages, and will create (even more) massive levels of localised unemployment. It will reduce the value of obtaining education qualifications, increase the realiance on networking and furhter align the 'success' of life towards the advantaged.
I'm not under 30, nor unemployed - but having worked as a teacher in remote areas previously I've had first hand exposure to the environment these kids live in. This will have massive repurcussions for little, if any benefit. Small town high school, with 25 kids who finish grade 10 each year - 2/3 will leave with their families following job opportunities (0 return), 5-6 will leave to go to college (1-2 return), 4-5 will get jobs (all stay), and the rest have no job, no certificate, nothing. What do they do now? At least in the current system they can survive, living in a familiar environment, where they have some network of friends/family/community to help obtain an entry-level job. They continue to use local business, greengrocer, butcher, petrol station, etc.

Their parents (>50% just one parent) cannot afford to feed, clothe and house them, nor assist in them moving to another city. They cannot afford to stay in school, have no job and are forced to live in an area they cannot afford (city) even if they could obtain an entry-level job. Once there, they have no job, no contacts, no network of support. Their old town has lost their spending power (as limited as it was), and considers whetehr to reduce overheads (put off staff). The cycle continues.

So we have masses of low-educated, unskilled, unemployed young people with no income or support moving into concentrated areas of similar people. Any job vacancy is thoroughly over-subscribed and employee rights are eroded. It's the "American Way" - slave labour and working 2-3 jobs just to avoid bankruptcy, whilst the other side get favourable tax concessions to buy investment property, hiking up your rent and then evicting when you cannot pay. Your child gets in trouble and taken off as you are a bad mother, too busy working 60 hour weeks to raise them properly.

The logical conclusion of this policy is to create a much larger under-class with survival income only, working long(er) hours with less pay, poorer working conditions, etc. Think of complaining? There's 20 people at the door would do your job for less, and do it with a smile. Meanwhile the boss needs another accountant to work out how to pay less tax.

You better hope you and your family are in the top 5% of the population.

Beck's new album has been like that for me.

Didn't even know Beck was still active TBH

You should listen to MMLP2 Gough. I think you'll like it. Here's a sample of some classic lyricism

"Oi-oi-oi, man oh man, your boy-boy-boy's getting sick of these girls-girls-girls
Oink-oink-oink, you ****in' pigs, all you're good for is doink-doink-doink
"I got 99 problems and a bitch ain't one"
She's all 99 of 'em; I need a machine gun
I take 'em all out; I hope you hear this song and go into a cardiac arrest
Have a heart attack and just drop dead
And I'mma throw a ****ing party after this, cause YES"
