Had seen it at JB Hifi around Christmas time, also saw it at Target and they had 25% off dvds from Boxing Day until the 14th iirc. I scanned it just for curiosity and the price was down to $120.

I have more than just Hawthorn grand finals on dvd, I have collected the grand finals that I enjoyed watching (also have the 2012 GF dvd.... never watched it but have it for the sake of collecting grand final matches on dvd). Originally started off with the Brisbane Lions grand final dvds (individually, also purchased the Brisbane Lions victory pack which was the 3 grand finals + season highlights dvd in one box set). I have the 04/05/06 GF's, 2009, 2011. From the 90's 92/94/96/97/98.

I still have a few matches from the past 10 years on "file" (from when I recorded the digital tv broadcast) that were fun to watch as a neutral as well. Havn't actually watched those in years, but they are there in case of a rainy day. I watch the Hawthorn grand final dvds every so often. I'll retire the 2014 GF at some point, maybe after the 200th viewing ? doubt I'll reach that milestone by the time season 2015 starts but it was fun to get to the 100th :p.
Do you have the 2007 Grand Final on DVD?

How many times you watched it now?
Currently heading towards the 120 mark........... it's the stuff of legend and ridicule on the Hawthorn board :D :straining:. I have only watched the dvd version a handful of times, whenever I feel a desire to put the match on I watch the recording I made of it from the Channel 7 broadcast from grand final day itself. I havn't "skipped" anything either, starts when the players are about to run on the ground, includes the national anthem and post match celebrations (also have the extended show which was on 7mate that included the club song as well - don't count it in my overall viewing experience as that would be even more insane sitting through an extra 30+ minutes on top of the 3 hours the normal version takes lol).

II clocked up the 100th viewing before the end of the year, it's a lot of fun. Granted some of the viewings my attention was not on the game 100% of the time... but it's great background noise :D. I have also ripped the recording and put it on portable devices (psp and another mp3/video player). Makes traveling on public transport a lot more fun :D.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

Those that were discussing the 25 years of AFL grand finals box set, JB Hifi currently have it for $179. JB-Hifi are having 20% off dvds/blu-rays from this Thursday. Now if they keep the $179 price tag as valid when 20% off is on then you can expect to pay $143.20. Even if they bump it back up to $199 - $160 is still pretty good (not as good as the $120 it was at Target a few weeks back).

Buying 25 grand final dvds individually would set you back $250 - $500 (maybe even $750... some retailers are still stingy and have the grand final dvds for $30+). Good way to own a slice of football history.

Can't help but laugh :D

Think I've watched the 2007 GF around 10 times I think, the others not so much. Sometimes you hear from people (even on this site) that they were so drunk on the day of their teams grand final win that they can't remember the game. Don't know why they don't go out and buy the DVD.

I watched the 2008 grand final daily for months.... I did retire it once the 2009 season began (pulled it out again to cheer myself up once Hawthorn were officially done for the year).

I didn't watch the 2013 grand final as often as either 08/14 (was more like a once a week viewing.... but would get excited watching highlights like Smiths long bomb goal in between viewings lol), that's not an admission that the match itself was boring - BUT just didn't have the motvation to watch it over and over again.

I wouldn't even think that I have watched Hawthorn's winning grand finals between 61 - 91 100+ times combined. I would say out of the older one's the 89 grand final would be the most watched.

Brisbane's 2003 grand final was a popular one, remember buying it a few days after the grand final and watched it many times. Should watch it again soon to see if I still get the same kind of spark from it(I should because it's Collingwood that gets spanked!).

I don't have any particular fondness for Hawthorn or Smith, but the footage of that goal makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up, for some reason.

I don't know why. The roar of the crowd, the commentary, knowing that he's probably sealed it for his team - it's just a great moment.

Watching a GF daily for months? The ****?

I think I've seen 2006 maybe half a dozen times if that. 1992/1994 maybe slightly more and they were 20+ years ago.
The main reason why I cracked the 100 viewings in a shorter space of time than you'd think it would be possible to - is because I watched it more than once per day early on  (EG: Including the original broadcast on grand final weekend I essentially watched it 8 times!). I know it makes it even more embarrassing but oh well. I did have a break from it here and there (1-2 days), but would jump back to it eventually. When you enjoy it, it is super easy to watch over and over and over again.

I don't watch many current tv shows during the year (still watch new Survivor and Supernatural), so what I watch is varied... whether it's movies or old tv show episodes. I do tend to repeat myself a lot, I have a fair few favourite movies than end up being watched more than once a year as well (eg: Superman 1 & 2, Lethal Weapon, Die Hard's 1-3, the Nolan Batman trilogy, Bourne Trilogy etc are watched at least twice... sometimes three or four times a year).

2002 was better imo.
