OT the Mrs has gone for dinner with a girlfriend. I'm on the couch with the laptop on NHL Highlights, tablet on Hawks-Swans, TV on the Cowboys-Bronco's and beer in hand. It's the sweetest.

You remind me of this song. This pleases me.

Jetstar sale fares. MEB_ do you have any hotel tips for Hawaii?
Is it just for you and your fella?
Depends on your budget and what you're looking for. We used vrbo.com to find a condo and stayed in a penthouse on Olohana Avenue (Waikiki), which was a ten minute walk from the centre of Waikiki. It was nice and quiet but the beach was super close, there was a trolley stop at the end of the street etc. After 8 nights there we moved to the Waikiki Resort Hotel which I do not recommend unless you're not looking for anything other than somewhere to snooze (because there was 5 of us it made it a bit awkward as we were all separated) but it's in an AMAZING location with the main beach at the end of the street.

How long are you going for? If you've got time, definitely hire a car. We drove up to Kualoa Ranch and Sunset Beach on the North Shore and to the Dole Plantation in West Oahu.

Thank you! Yeah just me and the fella.

Initially I thought 3 weeks, with 1-2 of that spent in New York, but the flights there are pretty pricey and it'll be freezing anyway.

What do you think is a good getaway time all spent in Hawaii?

Some time driving and exploring would be great.

You could probably go to Hawaii and get a cheap flight to the mainland from there as a domestic flight. Depends on how many islands you want to do. We had 12 nights, all in Oahu, which was the perfect amount. HBF has been to Maui previously and said it was much more relaxed so when we go back we'll go for longer and do 2-3 islands. There's plenty to do. We went parasailing, ziplining, on a boat cruise, shopping, on a luau, on a few drives, up to Diamond Head etc and still had a couple of days for just beach bumming.

Boyfriend has decided he can't afford it [emoji24] going to go to NZ instead and stay with family. Thanks for all of your help though Mebby!

As an occassional cyclist It's fantastic that in the Territory I can cycle on footpaths. I feel safer than on the roads and the bike goes faster.

LOL good joke. Never had one of those.

Lost our Christmas party and anything that cost the business money. Now I'm thinking of quitting

We only have a couple a year, but our managing partners are pretty good. Especially since I work at a chartered accounting firm.

Godfather Part II

Never get sick of watching it. A+ movie

Puzo, Coppola, Pacino gravitas & that Nino Rota musical score.:thumbsu:

Back when they still knew how to make great movies, as a work of art.

Been working my way through Robert De Niro's filmography. Is there an actor with a more impressive body of work? He'd be hard to top surely.

Yeah, very good actor. It's gone downhill a bit in the past 10-15 years though.

I agree. Post 2000 he's probably made about 3 or 4 decent movies and an infinite amount of stinkers. The one he released last year, The Intern, is actually quite good though.

I imagine that after a career of making some pretty heavy/gritty movies he wants to just have fun in his old age and collect paychecks for doing the same old facial expressions in no-brainer comedies.

hahah Nic Cage gave up a fair bit earlier in his career
