Having a large night out, enjoying it thoroughly. Knowing I did not use an atm and I only went out with $140. Waking up to $40 cash in the pockets.
Considering the night started at a function at 6.30 and ended at a fish & chip shop at 4.30, $100 was an absolute bargain. I was pleased.

Knowing I have 7 weeks of full time work before f*cking off overseas for a year to basically do whatever I want.

:thumbsu:

Saw him play here in Adelaide earlier in the year. Put on a top quality show. New album is great too.

New album is very good. Different from the previous two. A bit more electric guitar rather than the acoustic.

I missed him Melbourne show. I was in the States when tickets went on sale and couldn't get on to get some. Sold out in no time.

Dallas Green

I was pleasantly surprised by the album, not being a fan of his band at all.

The notion that only spending $100 going out in Melbourne is a bargain shits me greatly.

It's becoming almost impossible to go out and get away with less than $100. When you look at it objectively, it's a terrible way to spend your Saturday night. Never stops us though.

Have done both the Great Barrier Reef and the Ningaloo Reef, both amazing.
Sitting on the beach in Coral Bay drinking a cold beer during the middle of July with the sun beating down on you feels pretty damn good :thumbsu:
Making a milestone in cricket (Haven't hit a century but 3 50s, feel damn good)
Having a full toss by the opener bowled at you, and then lofting it over the keeper's head for a four and a no-ball
Kicking a goal as a backman in footy
Being at a West Coast game when they win
Unloading on the toilet real hard after a night out :thumbsu:

I had to go the eBay route to get tickets (wanted to surprise a friend, who is a big fan), as they sold out in about a week here in Adelaide, and I didn't have the money when they went on sale post-Christmas. Had to pay a little extra that way, but it was worth it for a quality show (my friend enjoyed the surprise too :)).

I'm always amazed when I hear of friends dropping $100-$150 on a night out like it's nothing. $45-$50 is a "big night" for me, and that's usually with bus fare to town and home, a couple of $5-$10 cover charges thrown in, and about 10 drinks. I'm usually on the $2.50 lemonades, but still :D

If alcoholic drinks are $6-$7 each (about average, right?), how much are people drinking to consistently spend over a ton?

i know blokes that will go out and spend 400-500 dollars on a night out.....crazy shit

always ends with prostitutes too

 How much are they earning that they can afford to do that? Takes me two weeks to earn that kind of money (assuming they're young blokes studying/working part time, like I am).

yeah they earn decent money but not huge money...just blokes that get a bit carried away on a night out

Entry: $10 (can be $20+)
Early beers: $4 pots (say 6?) $24.
Middle beers: $6 bottles of beer (4) $24.
Late night drinks: Vodka, bourbon etc $8 each (5) $40.
Food: Souva ($8)
Cab: Obviously it varies. My average would be about $30?

$136. I would say 15 drinks would be pretty standard if you're out for 6 hours. I also didn't mention shots or shouting friends whilst pissed which would push us over $150. May also go to more than 1 venue?

Was in Apollo Bay, some people needed to catch teh 6am bus home. House was about 3km from bus stop, so pre order the one taxi in town. The guy wakes up at 5:30 just for the $8 fare, but gets to the house a little after six after a bit of a sleep in....What does he do? Say sorry, my bad? He drove them all to Geelong for free! Absolute top bloke.

Also, losing an iphone three times and having it handed in every time (twice to police, once to a bar.)

restores my faith in humanity when shit like this happens especially when you lose your wallet and its returned with cash still in it

I always write off the cash, doesn't bother me at all so long as all the cards and stuff are returned. I think of it as a finders fee.

By comparison, this past Saturday night for me:

  • Dinner (homemade seafood laksa) at home before going out (6:30pm) - $0 (already had the gear in the pantry/fridge)
  • Tertiary student bus ticket to town (8:15pm) - $2.40
  • Five $2 subsidised drinks at a 21st (9:15pm-12:30am) - $10 (skipped the free food, as I wasn't really hungry, and don't usually get into party pies, cakes, chips and fare of that ilk anyway)
  • Entry fee at a venue where I was meeting friends (1am)- $5
  • Six $2.50 lemonades (got a pair for free because I'm a regular) - $10
  • Entry fee at another venue we eventually moved on to (2:45am) - $5
  • Two more $2.50 lemonades - $5
  • Tertiary student bus ticket home (4:45am) - $2.40
  • Hot breakfast (baked beans, eggs, toast, orange juice) at home once returning, before going to bed (6am) - $0 (again, already had the gear in the pantry/fridge)
Total - $38.80 :p One of the better nights out I've had in a while as well.

Admittedly, it'd obviously be more expensive for me if I drank alcohol, but there are definitely ways you can make your night cheaper (skip the late-night kebab, avoid cabs if you can, have everyone just pay for their own drinks) and still have a good time of it.

Clean bowling someone with a full toss.

That's of limited use to me since I've usually cancelled everything immediately anyway.

I agree it's just a relief to get the wallet and license etc. back though. I generally view the absence of any cash as a stupidity fine for losing it in the first place.
