Spending two weeks in the south island of NZ with five days in Queenstown and eating Fergburger with the girlfriend on the foreshore with a huge, contented grin on your face after jumping out of a plane.

Was such an awesome holiday.

It's surprising how good it actually is. For a business that is constantly busy and has a huge reputation I thought there was no way that it could possibly be that good. Pretty happy to be wrong.

Queenstown and the surrounding towns is a very enjoyable spot. I imagine it would be ten times better in the snow season. I love places that have heaps going on like Queenstown does but is also just a great place to chill in the sun and read.

Telstra Cable is quite possibly the best thing ever. NBN before the NBN even arrives.

Got up to 3.6 but hovered around 2.5 mostly.

I could never live in an area that doesn't have cable now.

This weather is also making having a broken leg much more palatable

It can.

I switched from Optus to iinet a couple of months ago. I had ADSL with Optus, but iinet could offer ADSL 2+ as Telstra allowed them access to the DSLAMs it didn't offer to Optus.

Now my downloads are slow compared to what others get here, but they are least four times as quick as they were.

Yeah, it can.

ADSL2 performance is all dependent on your position in relation to the telephone exchange. It won't be drastically better though.

However, I think (could be wrong) TPG and Optus share exchanges. Probably best to check Whirlpool.

Cable is so good as the speed is consistent and not reliant on your house position. Check Bigpond's cable map and if you're in it do everything in your power to hook it up. If you're not, move.

Australian Internet sucks anyway from what I have studied. My internet is at a moderate speed(up to 6mbit/s)and it costs me 20 €/months without any restriction of any kind .

Looks quite good for being connected only via Wireless lan.

50Mbit/s costs about 60€/month also unlimited.
The only thing where they have caps in Europe I think is on those wireless dongles for " on the go" internet, but apart from that it is cap free.
I have this speed, because it is good enough to stream and secondly my own PC is old anyway so even if internet was faster it wouldnt load faster.

Anyway ontopic: My tickets for several concerts arrived today .

After the hassle that came with moving to our house (see things that shit me) our tv unit which we weren't meant to get to late June came with the rest of the furniture today. That was a nice surprise, very pleased.
