got my car down to melbourne - last five days commuting to work 35 minutes each way pretty much every time - never more than 40 - and used half a tank of petrol including some driving over the weekend (30 litres - 45 bucks). previously a week long commute was setting me back 60 bucks in myki fares, and was taking an hour in the mornings and between 60 and 90 minutes (and one 2 hour journey of torture) to get home at night.
