A year or so ago my dad, mum, brother, and I were in the same room for the first time in nearly twenty years. It was a trip.

I think I've only ever been in one photo with Mum, Dad, and my sister as a family unit, and that was at her engagement party when she was 21 or 22! It's weird because my parents weren't particularly good for one another but they far from hate each other!

I dont actually think there is one in existence of my biological family. Maybe 1.

My family is dysfunctional as **** but still together. I put a big part of that down to Dad working out of town since the late 90s. A strange fall from grace as mums side of the family, the generations before her were all financially well off, hard working, family first nuclear sitcom material.

Since then lots of bad luck combined with bad choices doing their best to keep us down. Shit happens.

I thought my family was all happy enough, then a few weeks ago mum and dad told us that after 36 years of marriage, dad isn't happy and wants a divorce. Still living at home until it's convenient for him to leave though.

I mostly live with my boyfriend's family these days, but jeez it's a ****ed up situation that I'm finding hard to deal with when I'm at home.

Our neighbours have separated after 30ish years. The wife just doesn't feel it anymore but she doesn't want a divorce and still wants to be Mrs. X. Just doesn't feel any attraction or connection anymore post menopause, so has moved out and stopped seeing him. The fella is shattered as, he really didn't do anything wrong.

Oh I'm so sorry DG, that sucks. One of my family friends is going through the same thing (she's in her 20s) and finding it really really tough.

As someone with divorced parents I can honestly tell you that once all the ties are severed it gets much easier. Having him in the house has to add a whole layer of difficulty to the situation!

In a way I was spared of that as mine separated in 1994 when I was a toddler so no memories of it whatsoever.

My parents divorced when I was in my twenties, and I think it hit me harder than if I'd been younger, because you have some idea of what they're going through. When you know people you love are hurting, you hurt as well.

I was 11 when my parents split, in grade 6. It made a nice change from hiding under the bed while they fought for a couple of years up til that point. It was a tough time though, there was only one other kid with divorced parents at school and it was a shit way to start high school. Also got my first period on my first weekend visitation to my dad's house, which is even more awful and embarrassing than you imagine.

Oh and don't get me started on the tossers that say make mine extra hot. Last time i checked everyone gets boiling water and boiling milk. How much hotter than boiling do you want it? Tossers. You have to wait until its cool enough to drink anyway. Just stfu and drink your coffee without pretending your all important and shit.

A latte shouldn't be boiling hot, you should he able to drink it straight away. If the water and milk are that hot it gets way more bitter.
I hate places that make a latte so hot you burn your fingers picking it up and have to wait 10 minutes for it to cool down.
Most of the time I just make instant myself at home or work but if I'm paying for a latte I'd at least like the barista to know how to make one.
