Yeah the ABC morning news is far better than Sunrise and Today, the presenters are a lot more likeable.

The only thing I don't like about it is when some pollie makes some boring speech and they cut away from other news to show the whole bloody speech live.

I get weird looks from my family when I ask to watch ABC24's Breakfast Show.

But, I do agree, the commercial breakfast and morning shows are annoying to watch. They don't focus on the news at all unless it's breaking news.
Over the weekend, Today was on, and they had some excerpt from Getaway on.

I've got a bit of a thing for Beverley O'Conner who sometimes fills in for Virginia Trioli when she's away.

I like Virginia too but just as a person rather than as a MILF type sex object.

One thing I don't understand about Australian news programs, is that, yes they deliver you the news but the presenters are so... robotic. There's no personality. And that's because the programs don't deliver you their opinions.

I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, but isn't that how some American news deliver their news?

I just reckon I'd be a lot more interested in watching the news if it didn't feel so robotic.

i prefer it that way. hate the ZANY WHACKY morning show or commercial news programs. once such shows had a host, and reporters. now they have 2 hosts and a dozen hangers on sitting on the couch.

god i hope not fox news

The only morning show host on the commercial networks I can handle is Andrew O'Keefe who hosts Sunrise on the weekends, he can be pretty funny at times and doesn't take himself too seriously.

I reckon he'd be a good bloke to get on the piss with and swoon ladies.

Honestly, I really can't.

I don't know much about the news networks in America, apart from the right winged lunacy that is Fox news.

I'm only gathering this from watching the Newsroom. I know this is a fictional show, but I enjoy the format of providing objectional footage, objectional information (that they do on this show) but then also having their anchor Will McAvoy sometimes providing a mologue with gravitas. It helps that I pretty much agree with everything the show seems to believe in.

Another really good news format that I've been watching a lot lately is The Young Turks, which is similar. They give you the facts of the story, then proceed with their opinion and counterarguments.
