Migraine hangovers. Actually, migraines full stop. Finished work on Wednesday night with the mildest of headaches - barely even noticeable. Within an hour, it was a full blown migraine attack, and I was perilously close to needing to call my old friend Ralph on the big white phone. Still feeling the after-effects of it now; not helped by the fact that I only got 3 hours sleep last night, as my daughter decided to start being sick in the early hours of the morning.

People, usually women. Who need the heater on all day in the office. Gets so ******* stuffy. When I leave for the day my face looks like a cherry tomato.

This. My previous receptionist used to complain all the time when it was too cold even though we're sweltering in our business shirts on a 29 degree day because the crappy evaporative cooling isn't working properly.

I walked outside my office yesterday about 3.30 for a minute and it felt about 10 degrees cooler. Wasn't a particularly cold day either, was warm and sunny for this time of year at 12.30 when I got lunch.

The same people who make offices feel like saunas in winter make them feel like industrial cool rooms in summer.

This ******* month long run of ear infections.

Have to wait until Tuesday to get scan results. In the meantime I'm in agony and taking a ton of painkillers.

So over it. :(
Wow. Can you go to the emergency department asap. You'll get it looked at straight away. You probably need IV antibiotics. Dont wait. It will just get worse.

It's been looked at like 3 times by doctors, hasn't got worse in the last few days but just a persistent dull earache and headache. Manageable enough just feels like an eternity to know a way forward.

I randomly copped an ear ache two years ago after not having one since I was about 8-9. The pain was horrendous and I felt so weird at work not being able to hear people properly.

Then copped another two last year, and had pain and a blocked feeling for months. Eventually needed surgery to drain the sticky fluid that had accumulated and put in a grommet to prevent further ones again.

They're the worst.

back onto aussie tv.....or more 2 point singing contests....
"self doubt", "didnt believe in myself"
I actually liked Australian Idol and to a lesser extent X Factor in the early days. They're really scraping the bottom of the barrel now though. Guy Sebastian is the only one who has made any sort of a career out of it. These shows are basically just karaoke contests.

In the early days they at least pretended that it was about the contestants - these days they are all just platforms for blatant self promotion for the judges.

quite true. well its always been about kareoke.

i think it became about the judges after a few seasons in idol. then that osteoperosis crazy judge holden went coco bananas with his mannerisms then it was on for young and old.

the judges talk up the hopes and dreams of their contestants, filling their minds with images of fame and fortune. then the record deal as a prize in conjunction with the promised land. post contest the judge is no where to be seen.

She stepped off the bus out into the city streets
Just a small town girl with her whole life
Packed in a suitcase by her feet

But somehow the lights didn't
shine as bright as they did
On her mama's TV screen

And the work seemed harder
And the days seemed longer
Than she ever thought they'd be
