Spotify have cancelled my account, I am resorted to listening to foxfm because it is the only thing that will work. I need to listen to some music whilst at work!! :(:mad:

The ones at Coles are OK (Bunnings are better), but the ones at K-Mart seem more interested in engaging you in conversation than getting you out the door quickly with your groceries.

Interestingly, I use the Bunnings ones all the time. Went through with something expensive (power tool of some sort) and something cheap (plastic tub or some screws or something) and no one bothered to check my receipt as I walked out. Wonder if anyone has tried to do the dodge in that scenario...
Yep, bought lots of stuff by puttin a cheaper barcode on the box. Tried it with my lawn mower and for some reason they had a guy scanning for everyone at self server (Wtf), so instead of a 13 dollar lawn mower is was 400 or what ever it was. :(

After helping my Dad today make some shelves/drawers etc etc it is clear to me that I am not handy at all. Could still be reading the instructions now and be no closer to getting it done. However it made be feel better that my Dad was also stumped and he's usually pretty good at handy stuff

Welcome to the club, aside from the odd tap washer or a bit of painting I just accept that someone is going to be paid over the odds to do something for me that I could technically do myself but am incapable of.
There's no shame in this.

Yeah me too. I'm willing to get my hands dirty and do some labour, like yourself.

That doesn't mean I'm much chop though. Made the Uni decision a no-brainer, had to do it.

Yeh same here, I was at a laboring job last year for a few months which was stuff that was hard work but anyone could do it (digging holes etc etc). I don't mind doing stuff like that, the only problem is that like you said I am not any help once it gets a bit complicated. Lucky I am at Uni!!

An old friend of mine is lawyer with the ATO doing the driest sort of work you could imagine, but he his hobby is making furniture. I have two handmade Jarrah bookshelves of his that are beautiful pieces of furniture. The two disciplines can go hand in hand, but it is unusual.

For sure, yeah, would imagine a fair few would be the same.

Spending most of time either at school or playing sport as a kid meant I didn't take too much interest in much else. Now coaching though so I'm getting some reward for my efforts (not enough haha).

There was an IT tutor last year at my Uni that "did up" cars as a hobby. Surprised at first, but I spose he has a crapload of time and money at his disposal - he may as well give something like that a go.

What you aren't? Your partner must be disappointed. ;)
Every man on earth is good at good at giving hand jobs, you spend so much time practising on yourself it comes naturally in the end. For the truly gifted/aerobic, blow jobs can be similarly practised.

For all of those complaining about DIY and their lack of skill, set aside a few hours on a weekend start simple and hit it. I used to be completely ******* useless at it. I then bought a couple of DIY books on household and auto and practised. ****** up many a time but who's judging? I didn't know shit about cars a couple of years ago and now can give my car a basic service, didnt know how to drill a hole and now can build a basic shed.

Heaps of mistakes, quite a few minor injuries but when you achieve some small goals it feels great, nearly empowering. Just go in with the attitude that if you mess up it doesn't really matter.
