What really shits me is the speed limit in the Melbourne CBD being 40km/h. It's so ridiculous and unnecessary. So 60 used to be legal, now 60 is a big fine. The ******* idiots couldn't drop it to 50 in the name of safety or whatever (revenue raising), they had to make it 40. And there are some (Greens, councillors) that want to make it 30 km/h! And I wouldn't be surprised if that happens within 2 years.

I have shit to do, places to go. Driving at 38-40 km/h is a ******* joke. In a school zone in the morning and afternoon, no problem, in the city, go and get ******!
The dream is to eventually have cars banned from the CBD and possibly a few surrounding suburbs. Obviously it would be political suicide to do so, so it is done by stealth. Increased parking fees, ridiculous speed limits etc so eventually it will be that pointless using a car in the CBD the final abandonment won't come as such a big shock.

This:

Through a "friend of a friend" got hold of a couple of Geelong memberships with reserved seats linked to them, as the actual owners of these memberships could/cannot use them over this period. (They're getting married).

Game one: Geelong v Collingwood... or should that be Collingwood v Geelong, as we soon found out . There we were, happy as larry, sitting in "our" front row seats in M51, until- thankfully a polite- Geelong supporter came along with the exact same seats. The reserved seats were for Geelong home games at the G. This was not. Face/palm, had to move to Qfriggin1.

Game two: Geelong v WC. I didnt go to this game, but a couple of others did. Drove down to KP- the scanner wouldnt scan in the memberships!!! Friend A spins some shit to the gate attendant, saying they will look into it at the Cats Shops and manages to get in the ground without a scanned ticket. (miracle in itself)- rings up membership holder. The guy in the couple has ON SOLD the ****ing tickets they gave us, thinking we only wanted tickets to the Collingwood match. Not the WC and..

Game three: Geelong v Hawks. Our home game- the game where we were meant to finally use these awesome front row seats. But cant cause the doofus sold them onto someone else. IF that someone else is reading this, with the M51, row A, seats 6/7 I think. Seriously. ****. you.

Oh and just purchased my nose bleed section tickets for next Monday. Yay.

I would have no issue with some form of CBD tax for cars, there is such little need to drive there that on the rare occasion i HAVE to i would be happy to pay some sort of toll etc. I have no idea how they would do it and would vehemently oppose it if it was just a generic tax but the excessive parking costs/fines, low speed limits, pedestrian and bike friendly lights are all fine by me personally.

The fact I can't really get into Box Hill Hawks games. I try to join in the chants and shit but the only reason I really go is to have a gander at the Hawthorn listed players. After the draw today I really couldn't have cared less tbh. They are my local team as well so it would be nice if I could get some passion but it was really just "meh"

Also on VFL....does anyone find it weird watching AFL players that you usually see in front of a massive crowd, playing on pretty much a local oval. Weird as

That's pretty normal.

I go to VFL games just to see how the young players are tracking, and to see if anyone is banging on the door for selection. I mean, I would love it if we win, but it doesn't really bother me at the end of the day.

as long as you're not one of those campaigners who stand there with their arms crossed being completely unimpressed thinking they know everything about football cause they support a team playing a higher level but in reality they know sweet **** all.

When people leave one biscuit in the tin. Like, shit, I want biscuits but eating one is so unfulfilling. If you're gonna knock off the last of the bikkies make sure you commit. You've ruined my snack you ******* flog.

I'll probably get blasted for being politically incorrect for this but fat people, especially fat young people at the footy annoy me. You're too lazy to do any exercise or follow a good diet yourself but willing to spend money to go watch and cheer on people who aren't?
I have nothing against young people that are fat. Do you mean kids?

Because kids have no control over what they are being fed, I think if you're probably in your mid 20's to 30's you at least have some control over your body but really, it's their body. They can do whatever they want.

I don't think it's fair to begrudge the overweight for watching football.
They can annoy me in general though. They seem to feel they're more entitled to more space for the same money on planes/at cinemas/just about anywhere, they poke and prod anyone who isn't a behemoth and mock them for being skinny but turn on the waterworks when it's pointed out they're obese, they use their weight to breeze through people and act as if it's politically incorrect to point out they bumped into you, and so on.

Not the case with all of them but there definitely seems to be an underlying hypocrisy.

Some control? In your mid 20's or 30's? SOME control?

I give them a pass mainly because you've just finished high school, you start becoming a lot more independent and do have free reign of what you generally eat the whole day and more knowledgable on exercise and nutrition etc. But it does take a few years to either break those bad habits, and get to a decent weight. It doesn't happen just... over night.
