I do love the fact that there are so many Australians that get so defensive and protective about football teams from a country(s) that they despise so much. That half of them wouldn't be able to pin point their clubs location is well hilarious.

When I was born Hawthorn only had 9. According to my Dad's mate who is a mid 50's Saints fan, I am very lucky. Which might be correct but most of my first memories of them are poor. 2003-2006 were not our finest moments.....
On a serious note though, I have never known anyone to be a "gloryhunter/bandwagoner". Do people actually change teams when theirs is shite? I can't fathom how anyone could. So much so that I still support the Perth Glory over either Melbourne clubs because I supported them in the old NSL. No idea why. Not that I follow it that closely but yeahhhhh probably not my best choice. #Unique #Glory4Lyfe
I'm just trying to stir ya a little bit.
I think there probably are people like that, but I don't know any personally.

Not me, I started supporting Chelsea when I was living in West London and they were the closest EPL team, Fulham was actually closer to where I lived but they weren't in the EPL back then.

This was in the pre-Abramovich era back when Gianluca Vialli was coaching and we had strikers like Zola, Hasselbaink and Gudjohnsen, they weren't as successful back then as now so I can't be accused of gloryhunting even though most people do anyway now that Chelsea are successful and winning trophies. I hardly ever post on the soccer board either which doesn't help.

Hasselbaink, oh boy.

Scored the perfect hat trick vs Spurs, left foot, right foot and a header. Had a ******* shot like a rocket. And Zola, the little magician.

Chelsea were a pretty exciting side to watch back then.

Hasselbaink and Gudjohnsen were a great strike partnership.

Soccer is the sport with the highest skill needed at the top level.
all sports have different skills. soccer, being the most widely played game in the world, would be the most competitive - not necessarily the most skillful. though they no doubt possess great skills.

i would consider golf to be the most mentally challenging.

golf is mentally draining. one bad shot ruins your whole round/day.
that is a huge, but the biggest thing for me is the variance between a well played shot and a shot where your swing is out by only 5-10%. slightly off and you can slice it 30 metres off the fairway.... then you can play a great shot off the tee but put it straight in the bunker, and two holes later you can toe a shot and it dribbles 150 metres straight down the fair way and doesn't work out too badly. and we haven't even got to what happens on the greens yet...

long term a players overall skill level will shine through, but there can be mass variance on a single stroke in terms of how you execute and the luck of where the ball finishes. that wreaks mental havoc with you. anyone that plays poker will understand that concept pretty well.
