I hate thongs. Call me unAustralian (and I'll put you on my ignore list) but they are just a shit piece of footwear.

I hate the sound they make when they flick back up and slap the heel.
I hate the shuffling sounds they make as the back drags along the ground.
I hate seeing people's dirty heels from all the dirt that gets flicked back on them.
Especially hate guys wearing thongs.
Jeans with thongs NO WAY!!!
I don't mind wearing them around the house or before/after playing cricket (helps air the feet out) but I can't stand wearing them at uni or when I'm out and about. For some reason my feet get real sweaty when I wear them and this makes them slip around and a gross black gunge develops. It doesn't help that a few of my toenails are constantly black and dead from playing footy. Nobody wants to see that!!

haha im the same and i dont mind public transport provided I am either on the eisle or standing:cool:
I have many, many other reasons to hate public transport + the fact that I enjoy driving makes it a no contest for me.

My car is much more comfortable (not in the same league), is at the perfect temperature, contains no foul smells, has perfect audio content at all times, never leaves without me and I never have to wait for it.

The only public transport I use is airline travel because it is far too expensive to fly yourself and so much quicker than driving.

Thongs are brilliant.

Taking shoes on and off is an absolute pain in the arse.
I agree that doing and un-doing laces can be a pain in the arse, but i had a pair of Everlast shoes for years that were laceless. Never slipped at the heel, really comfy. Wish i stocked up on them, i would kill for another pair.

I never have shoes that require lacing. Even if they have laces, I set them up so that I just slip on and off. :thumbsu:

Signal faults, how hard can it be to fix a signal fault? Was delayed by a signal fault on my way in and then again 10 hours later on the way out, same fault same station, incredible.
Modern signalling systems designed to cut down on staffing have to be highly automated and are, due to the nature of the system, highly interconnected.

It's basically a house of cards, and if you pull a card (track circuit fault/lighting strike on a building housing a lot of the electrical systems etc) near the bottom out the whole thing crumbles into a heap. It can take a lot of time to find the fault and/or replace/repair the faulty parts.

The second one is quite evident, but the first certainly isn't common knowledge. Is driving yourself cheaper than getting a taxi?
Nowhere did you mention driving yourself is cheaper than getting a taxi, hence my response, both.

When asking someone their nationality etc. and they respond with something like "1/4 Irish, 1/4 greek, 1/4 Italian, 1/4 Pomeranian" WTF just tell us where you were born/raised and at the most where your parents are from. Stop claiming every single ethnicity present on your family tree to make yourself sound more exotic.

I'm the other way on this. I hate it when I ask someone their nationality and despite looking like something completely ethnic, they are like "I'm Australian". Yeh yeh I get it, you were born in Australia but what nationality are you?!!!!

If they are born in Australia, they are Australian, even if they look "completely ethnic", as you so cleverly put it.

Seeing Barrack Obama and Mitt Romney on TV every single night!! I'm not speaking for everyone but I'm not interested in the US apart from their sports and I'm 100% sure that they don't give a shit about who our politicians are or what they're doing so why should we care about theirs!
