Yellow ink. How bizarre. I have seen those pens with sparkly ink but they are usually purple or something. I was always taught that it goes:

Document composer: Blue/Black ink
Reviewer: Red
Auditor/second reviewer: Green

Although I guess with everything being typed these days the rules don't need to be as strict.

I bought a bunch of pen cartridges the other day thinking I was getting black, and when I got home found they're brown. Who uses brown ink?

words/expressions of the week....

this week misogyny is clearly and in-vogue insult to use on people
Agree... hate how the media and the dickheads in Canberra latch onto a term and use it nonstop for a few weeks.

Would love to simply see a nuke dropped on Canberra in weeks like this. There'd be innocent bystanders, but the positives would far outweigh any genuine tragedy.

Australian Politics in the past few weeks have been as embarrassing as I can remember. These people are suppose to be running the country, deciding on policies that will be best for Australians in the long run - instead they are all acting like a bunch of school kids and the media is lapping it up, repackaging it all and selling it back to us as entertainment. It's so god dam pathetic.

I ****en hate political point scroing with an unhealthy passion.

We really need a whole new political landscape in australia.

Only the past few weeks?

It's been getting exponentially worse for a number of years now.

I hate how movies are so unrealistic, it's like they don't even try to make it half-believable. I'm watching The Day The Earth Stood Still and an alien from miles away somehow speaks and understands English. The alien lands in the centre of New York, of all places NEW YORK!!! I just don't get why they don't try harder to make them realistic. Still a good movie though :)
They actually explain this in the movie. Keanu the alien asked to be taken nearby to a meeting of world leaders when confronted by the secretary of state... the summit being held in NYC, which is why they landed there.

In regards to speaking English, Keanu the human was cloned by the aliens when he encountered the orb on the mountain in the prologue (1924 iirc), so that's where they absorbed our language.

One thing that I found unrealistic about the film was that Keanu the alien was so impressed with Bach, oddly enough. Surely advanced aliens would have superior music (or fundamentally maths) that would leave ours for dead.

Anyway.

Its a byproduct of a PM who wasn't actually elected by the people but got the job by technicality. She'll do anything, including the blatant hypocrisy of her antics this week (which I found absolutely juvenile and pathetic) to stay in power - when she's meant to represent our needs as Australians. The fact that the opposition leader is an intense Christian who can't seem to separate his far right views with a progressively open nation complicates the matter.

Howard should never have lost the election; but he should have handed the reigns to Costello earlier. Howard hung on too long, and we got a wanker in Kevin 07 because 'we wanted change. Costello was change, he was experienced and he was steady. Probably would have made short shrift of work choices once Howard was out of the way and he'd still be PM today.

And he could be the next PM!

I'd rather someone who is proactive than someone who's main priority is power TBH. Hopefully Abbott will hand over the reigns to someone a bit more left of right after a while. Costello would have been the right fit.
We can but hope but the pickings amongst the Opposition are somewhat thin unfortunately. Guess we may well have to suffer him for a while, it's going to be a very interesting time.

At least he has a clear ideology that frames his political philosophy and prospective voters can read Battlelines and make their own decision on him. Gillard's an atheist, unmarried defacto, who opposes gay marriage.

So? I love how the term "athiest" is thrown around like an insult in political circles. I'd much rather have people who don't blindly believe fairly tales thousands of years old in positions of power.

I guess you could say politicians who think they have the right to make decisions based religion shit me. This is the 21st century ffs.
