Cars - Dad's got an 06 Ford Territory that is slowly disintegrating. He looks after it very well, regularly serviced and all that yet in the past few months its had the following dramas:
  • Driver's side power window not working
  • Front Ford badge just fell off
  • Rear driver's side tail lights not working (not the globe)
  • Passenger door handle cover thing coming off
  • Storage compartment lid on dash not closing
Just out of the warranty period too, such a surprise...
On the flip side though, I've got a 98 VT Series I Commodore (done double the km's that the Territory has) and that's got nothing wrong with it. Go figure.

I'm also dressing up tonight. I'm going with: one-button blazer (always left open :thumbsu:), dress shirt (untucked) and slacks. Defs no tie. Still undecided whether to go with a boring belt buckle or my Rolling Stones tongue logo one :D

Need some snappy comebacks for when people accuse me of wearing a "suit" and over-dressing. **** the haterz.

If you're wearing slacks the shirt has gotta be tucked, or it ruins the look.

i'm with zimma. wearing a suit does nothing for me. looking at people in suits does nothing for me. most of the time they just look like some obnoxious twat to me.

met a mate in town the other day i hadn't seen for a quite some time. he's a good guy. there was about 10 of us in there, most i hadn't met. me and some other guy i had met once or twice before are the only one's not suited up. anyway, me, my mate and non suity in the corner talking life, sport, music, and getting on it. the other suits all talking work, stocks, blah blah ******* blah. pretty typical really.

the only other two types of people wearing suits:
1- people at weddings. fair enough. pretty good cross society of people at these events. can handle that.
2 - people at races. they start off allright but typically can't handle their booze, or they become obnoxious as **** over the course of the day - it seems like wearing a suit, combined with overpriced booze, makes them feel special. having worked plenty of racedays over the years across melbourne and sydney listening to some of the bullshit that comes out of peoples mouths after a race day makes you lose faith in humanity. i've worked plenty of footy events too and it's not even on the same level.

you wanna talk to an interesting person? go to a race day, find some old codger in jeans and get him going with a few stories. even if they're not true or exagaratted he'll tell some tales that rip the balls of all the young suits who think they're james bond for a day.

speaking of balls, if i'm gonna suit up cause chicks dig it i might as well take aforementioned balls and stick them in my throat.

ties do even less for me. about six years ago i decided i didn't need to wear a tie in my previous job... i think the only time i've worn one since is when working barshifts at various places whilst at uni.

i paid about 450 for a suit and pants some six years ago. since quitting the above "tie" job (real estate *shudder*), it's probably come out three times. 20 pills would've been better value.

That's a lot of projection for one post.
indeed.

you know what else does my ******* nut in. speaker verification systems. seriously?? whoever thought these were a good idea needs to get their balls strung up by a tree.

for something say "something", for this say "this", for that say "that".... please why can't we just press a button on the phone. it's not that ******* hard to do it. what was the purpose of changing this system?

Yeah... that’d be a 2 hour game of footy, versus probably 6-8 hours at the track, and the amount of grog that is therefore consumed. Pretty basic maths really. I don’t think it has much to do with what they’re wearing.

Do you read the Friday Herald Sun Cars Guide??...for years people have been writing in to the letters page with complaints about these...one has to wonder whether they just threw a 4wd onto a Falcon chassis with those early models.

Are you sure that has nothing to do with living in Adelaide?
Yep, I'm actually a pretty easy going happy guy 99% of the time, Bunnings brings the devil out in me, and problem is they've put most of the little independent stores out of business who used to actually give a shit helping you out.
